Radar Detectors

I need your help guys, everyone at my office agreed that a radar detector would be an ideal gift for one of my bosses. We have $150 to spend on him. What can I get for that much that is decent. I don't need top of the line here, but it's going to my boss so I don't want it to be junk.

Thanks guys.

see if you can get a little more and search for a BEL 985. If you look you can find one for about 200.

ABSOLUTELY!! I couldn't agree with you more. I have gone through about 12 detectors in my life and the ONLY one I would ever consider spending any money on again would be another 8500. I have never used a Valentine 1, but based on what I hear, they're both at the same level.

My wife has some Cobra POS we bought her a couple of years ago. It tells us the following:
1) where every store with an alarm is
2) we just passed a speedtrap and the town budget is about to increase again.

The 8500 has saved my butt more times than I can count.

Your money is much beter spent on a cheap hooker for him. Remember, he'll remember your "generosity" when X-Mas bonuses are handed out

I have the Solo S2 and it's bailed me out a couple of times. It's only pro/con is that it's cordless. As the $300 I paid for the S2 was a bit steep for me, $400 for the V1 just wasnt justifiable enough for a weekend driver like mysfelf.

I have used my S2 for almost a year. The most impressive thing is the anti-falsing. Best of any detector I've had.

I picked up a BEL RX55 for $230 and it didn't miss a beat. Think that would be the cheapest entry point.
