Well Majofo...
I put in a can of chemtool on a quarter tank.
I hooked up my obd2 reader with torque app and confirmed it's more power than a stage 2 tune.
All kidding aside...
I drove the S2000 today. No Z until tomorrow so I figured I'd switch it up...
odd that my CTS-V Wagon, the nicest car of all 3, is the one getting a break!
I should have spent the money on 6MT!

Mmmm....
you still considering wheels?
if my oem's wouldn't have cracked (repeatedly) I would still be rocking em...although those niche you found me look so damn good...perfect fitment.
Thanks again...really hooked me up during a time I was in a pinch and unwilling to do research!

I look once in a while. Price on the Niches + tires is hella good (1200 desperate) on a coupe.
But.. I don't love them.. pass.

How about a 69 Nissan Homy Super Long?
Maybe Probe Escort trade for a Hummer (2for1)
Or get a used Magnum R/T (really tiny) and RAM the V

I'm pretty sure J was conceived in the back of a Happyness, right after Woodstock ended.

Okay, well, ordering new bosch coil packs and the brake booster lines and checkvalve...along with the air filters and new spark plugs, I think I'll have covered most of a tune up.
Then we'll see where the check engine light stands.
Otherwise, idle seems to have balanced out a tad, we're looking good.
Just did seafoam through the intake manifold. Had to get creative with a straw to keep the engine from stalling while pulling the sensor to suck the fluid in.

I bet you got really creative with the pulling and sucking.

R8 V10 swap & problems gone

LOL...I don't want to deal with the timing chain guides and tensioners otherwise I'd have already ordered and rebuilt a V10.
Dude bro. Yes I got creative although just like most guys, it's the simple rub and tug they're after. Get too fancy and you end up tickling more than getting the job done.

Media blasting is supposed to be the way to clean the valves, then I suppose a treatment like seafoam immediately following would be safe.
#347
You know...
I've read both sides of that argument but I've seafoamed almost every car I've had and felt like it gave me a good placebo effect of "feeling" like my engine was cleaner and running better.
Who knows...
Figured if they fouled the plugs and whatnot, I got the new ones on the way anyway.
I ran a bottle of chemtool B12 through the gas tank too to clean up injectors.
Also...keeping it out of boost and driving it like a civilized human being made a huge difference...
So far I've got 45 miles on this tank and averaging ~32mpg

meh, probably won't happen until I can afford the 991.
Anyway...the more I read up, and enjoy driving the car...
the more I'm researching the basic maintenance to be done on this car.
Just ordered the cam follower and high pressure fuel pump o-ring

have you been buying oem parts, or aftermarket, for the stuff you are replacing?
In either case, how do you find the prices in comparison to stuff you've bought for your past Acooras?

Well, ECS is pretty well known...stumbled on a replacement oil filter cover on mine that's ECS too and they're known to be reputable among the Audi community it seems.
I am buying OEM when necessary (like a 45K mile second hand LKQ oem axle because I've learned that lesson before...no aftermarket axles!)
but for instance...oem brake booster lines and checkvalve were $72 (on ECS website, mind you)...and $29 for the aftermarket one...
that said, a set of bosch coil packs, set of 4 was $81. Which was shocking compared to Acura pricing.

In my experience with the B5 so far, OEM will always be best; hoses, gaskets, sensors, coilpacks, etc .. but you also pay out the nose.
I really only go aftermarket on non-critical items.

gave the interior a quick detail using water and dishsoap...got all the finger grime off the steering wheel all the stalks...
vacuumed and treated the leather as well as used my steam cleaner to get some carpet stains out.

Not sure if you want to 'go there' or not; however, Duplicolor has two Vinyl & Fabric aerosol colors that are pretty close if you want to redo any part of your interior color (ie center console et al).
HVP108; Desert Sand
HVP113; Medium Beige
BTW, Nice pick up in regards to the Audi.

Dude.. amateur hour. Hit that shit with blue magic and it'll be like new.
#358
LOL...
sure thing.
Dude, I can't get over how happy I am to be getting 32 mpg...I don't think I ever have gotten that in any vehicle ever. Maybe the TL for a short burst on the highway downhill.
Contemplating spacers for the rear wheels but still haven't spent any money on extraneous mods and don't think I'm gonna start now.
