Plug n Play HID Kits

Plug n Play HID Kits
How do you guys feel about these? I recently picked up a 2006 Accord Coupe, and I can't stand the Halogens...since I had HID's in my old car...
I realize alot of people bash the PNP Kits, and recommend doing Retro-fits. Does anyone have a PNP kit in there halogen based headlight, and is happy with the results? I understand most of you have stock HID's, but I'm sure there is a few people here with halogen based headlights.
Also does anyone know a good company to buy, and what site to order from?
Thanks!

There are projector headlights available for the 06 Accord. I don't know if these are any good, but for example:

Please get projector housings made for HID bulbs...HIDs in halogen reflectors are knee-deep in ricer territory.

I had a mculloch 8000k HID plug and play kit on my old 04 accord coupe and they worked great although i wanted to do a retro, they hid kit worked just fine and has way better output than the stock bulbs, not sure where they were purchased or the price i recieved them as a gift, But here is an idea of what the output will look like, i dont have any night pics though, here are a few pics...

Personally, I think its pointless to buy an HID kit without buying the housing meant for the HID. You'll be losing light output as well as blinding everyone on the road.
Kinda like a drop on stock shocks....what gives???

Dont the second gen tl's have HID's in stantard reflective housing? As for the heating issues i have heard of some but if you have good ballasts/ignitors that is what regulates the power and output to the bulb so that it wont draw too much power and cause electrical issues. Ive had these on my old accord for several years now, they have worked great and are still functioning normal. Like said above i do agree that you should have a retro done with projector lenses but $350 compared to over $1,000 for a retro if you dont have the money which are you going to pick? Or you can just do what i did for a retro buy a car that has them factory!

i would never pay $309 for a kit unless it was a Philips. anything else, it's a total ripoff. there are plenty of PNP kits out there for less than $200 that serve that exact same purpose. dont just spend more money because you think it'll be better. also, if you're going for maximum light output, go with a 4300k or 6000k. 8000k kits are better than stock halogens, but certainly not hundreds of $$ better.

I loved them. Almost anyone who saw them loved them as well...But I figured 6000k would be better, more visibility.
I just can't get used to halogens on the accord, I kept telling myself I was going to keep this car totally stock, but I guess this isnt a huge mod.

It's like a bad addiction, I can't overcome haha
Also sorry to go SEMI off topic, but has anyone tried any halogen bulbs? I want to improve the lighting somehow. Before I had HID's I had Nokya Arctic White bulbs, which were pretty good...But I know they burn pretty hot...I was also considering Silverstars...Anyone have any halogen recommendations? I kinda feel the Noykas, are like high school riceish.

On my accords in the past ive tried lots of aftermarket bulbs to get the HID look and they always seemed to burn out after a few months such as sylvania silverstars, i always made sure to wear gloves and not touch the bulb up against anything when installing, thats why i got the HID kit still going strong. As for modifying cars it is an addiction i said that i wasnt going to modify my TL because i hated my accord with all the aftermarket parts, but of course i saw the aspec kit and now have purchased that, how can you go wrong with factory mods it looks great!

I had 6k Mccullogh(sp?) and both ballast went out. I want to try again with another company with 4300, just like you said. Do they use phillips parts and where did you get them?
