Pics of New Audio Upgrades/Custom Work

Finally got my car back after a little audio re-fresh. First off, the Kenwood 9980HD head unit definitely lives up to the hype. Highly recommended. Surprising sound/clarity upgrade over my previous Kenwood DDX unit and it has many nice features you can upgrade your car with if you dont have them to begin with (Bluetooth, Navigation w/Traffic Alerts and Voice Command, Pandora, Iphone connectivity, Back-up camera, and an additional USB to charge/run off, ect).

Next was the custom one piece box built to fit behind the center waterfall/seats and power convertible top. I replaced my (2) individual JL Audio enclosures with this set up. To be honest, it was more of a challenge than I expected but it ended up working out. Had to get the"Infinity" (RIP StonedCL) subs to replace my JL Audio subs that were blown/sun beaten. Kept my Boston Acoustics door components/tweeters as they've held up surprisingly well.

Finished off with matching red-stitched leather "DSVettes" shifter/shift boot, E-Brake/brake boot.

For sure, its was under $50 if I remember correctly. Tested it against a JLW3 8" and, honestly, liked the Infinity better....not to mention it was 1/3 the cost.

Technically the jab at StonedCL doesn't work too well b/c when talking about the audio company b/c Infinity with a "y" is correct. But I see what you did there

Anyway, looks good. Enjoy it

Sorry for the late reply but thanks again. I haven't seen StonedCL (Matt) in years, but oddly enough he was a really nice guy in person and "sane" person despite his crazy internet stories and sloppy internet vocabulary. Regardless, he gave me a great deal on my car (still worth more than the price I got it for).

haha. As Biggie said, "Rule number Uno, never let no one know, how much dough you hold, cause you know....." LOL

It's been too long man. I'll be back in H-town next week, I'll give you a call.

PS: CRAZY, I just saw that thread where you sold your vette in 6 days. We never got to run it... More importantly, we never even got to roll together....

What's next?
