Poor Covid. Tired of it taking all the blame.
Needed to get them rebalanced so took them to the shop, I waited until winter was over. I give a shit, but life is busy. Buying and selling a house took priority over swapping wheels

And for the record I washed it several times, just not a full on hand wash, so sue me

Hey Kris? Chris? now I'm not sure......lol

I remember when you got your mats you said they were better than whatever I got in my Tundra (don't remember that either, what day is it???

Are you still happy with them and if yes what are they? I'm getting a Sequoia I need mats for.

Thanks,

note: Kris Chris thinks everything he owns is "better than what you got".
Keep that in mind in any future decision making.

Kris Chris is the original "more than you can afford pal" guy...
and he was driving a 1995 civic hatch DX at the time.

I'm not sure what Krischris has in his truck, but IMO, if they make it for your vehicle, the Husky liners are better than WeatherTechs. In the 4Runner, the Huskies go up and over the sill a little bit whereas the WeatherTechs just sit down in the footwell pan. That little bit of extra lip makes it worthwhile; protects further out and lessens the amount of crap that slips down between the side of the mat and the carpet.

WeatherTech is not a bad choice, but Husky is better.

Definitely the Husky floor liners, that's what I have and they're far superior compared to the WT in my opinion

Got several mods installed at the same time, I've had these parts piling up for a while since I was buying a house and moving, but I finally got around to taking off the door panels and fishing wires through the doors and the center console. The first big mod is folding mirror motors, these required removing the door panels, the mirrors, and disassembling the mirrors. Here's a before, I didn't take many pics of this process as it was a bit painful.

Disassembling the mirrors, had to disassemble the entire mirror including the mirror adjustment motors

Another giant pain was having to disassemble this plug to get the stock wires to fit through the motor grommet

And here is the mirror all assembled and installed back on the truck

And here's a side by side of the stock switch on the left, and the new switch on the right with the folding mirror button.

The other most painful part of the install was fishing the folding mirror power wires through the door grommets

And here's the harnesses all assembled

Another mod that I had waiting to go in at the same time was the Meso Puddle light on switch, that allows you to turn your puddle lights on at any point. I didn't get a pic of the harness before I fished it behind the dash and pedals, but here's what the harness looks like

I had one switch slot available since my sPod controller takes up the 4 slots on the left side of the steering wheel, so I installed the switch there. The switch stays on auto and the puddle lights work as normal when the truck is unlocked, but this switch allows them to be turned on independently as needed.

Another mod that I had waiting for the doors to be disassembled was new speakers in all the doors. My driver's door 6x9 speaker blew and sounded horrible, this was the culprit that went straight in the trash. My Alpine Halo head unit blew this sucker

These were cheaper speakers so I opted to just replace all of them at the same time.

Another discovery that I found when I took the 6 1/2's out of the rear hatch was that the one speaker wire had snapped off and was not attached to the one terminal, so that's fun...

I took advantage of a Black Friday sale and picked up a new set of 6x9's and 2 sets of 6 1/2's, I opted for some Infinity Kappas in all 5 doors.

Here's the new 6x9's ready to go in the front doors.

And here's one of the 2 sets of 6 1/2's

All ready for the rear doors

And here's the new speakers installed in the rear doors

And here's the finished product of the doors with the mirror motor wires all ziptied and cleaned up and the new speakers

And here's the driver's door all buttoned up as well.

I'll post some more finished pics, but wanted to get these uploaded.

Been busy, haven't driven the truck much but I did throw the last 2 speakers in the rear hatch. I got more mod installs planned, just trying to squeeze them in between working on the new house and prepping for baby

Yeah, it has 8 speakers total, the "premium JBL" has more, but I'm more than happy with the 8 in the doors and dash, and I upgraded the dash tweeters to full range speakers as well so it's more than enough sound, especially when my HU blew the cheap MB Quartz I had originally

Got a couple more small mods installed, the first was an oil catch can. 4Runners are notorious for having oil in the intake, so I figured I'd throw one on and see for myself. Here's the kit that I used.

And here's a before of the stock PCV line that gets replaced, before I removed it

And here's the stock tube removed, didn't realize that I cut off the right side of it lol

And here's the kit ready to be installed with the old stock PCV tube

And here are the new hoses installed and run to the intake manifold and the PCV valve

And here is the catch can all installed, I used some gun grease to make sure that the hoses slid on all the way to the barbs

And here it is all buttoned up and ready to collect that intake oil.

The lighting sucks in these pics, but here is how I routed the new hoses, you also reuse the stock hose clamps

What I like about this kit is that it's made to fit under the stock engine cover, you can barely tell it's there if you're not looking for it.

Here you can see it sticking out the bottom

Another mod that I've been waiting months to do is the Expedition Essentials phone mount that was out of stock for like 6 months. I played with several mounting options but this was the one that made the most sense since it doesn't block or interfere with the floating screen on the Halo head unit.

Excuse the dirty center console, I need to do a full interior detail one of these days.

Very happy with it so far, hoping that it will work for my use and still be easy to reach.

And finally, here's a pic of the VLED puddle lights being used by the Meso switch that I wired in above, this will come in handy if I ever go camping or to concerts ever again lol. Love that I can flip them on with a switch without having to hit the unlock button on the remote. She's dirty, but whatev. This is a completely dark garage.

Yeah, one of the main reasons I wanted the Premium package was the extra speakers since I always replace my speakers anyway. The new Kappas are SO much better and fuller sounding than the MB Quarts that I had in there for the last 3+ years.

Little action shot of the cell phone mount, I got it angled to face me very nicely. So far I'm happy with the location. I wanted to go farther forward, but I didn't want to interfere with the shifter

are you pretty good about avoiding distracted driving?
if not, it being so far from the horizon (windshield) might
make it dangerous.
nobody discusses best practices for distracted driving.

Absolutely, I don't look at my phone while driving, plus I have Android Auto on the HU so I don't need to control the GPS and Audio features on the phone, this is just so I can glance down at traffic lights or while the vehicle is not in motion. Nothing pisses me off more than people texting and driving and swerving all over the road. I am not one of those people whatsoever. I have no need for the phone to be up by the windshield or to become a projectile if there is an accident
