Ack - i just had a '19 T4R loaner over the weekend... i was really excited until i drove it 60 miles home... maybe it was the hype, but i felt disappointed... i wasn't trying to set any land speed records but the truck felt like a total pig to me... did they completely discontinue the v8? the 4L felt way underpowered for its size and weight and needed at least a supercharger...

[threaddrift] I didn't think the JLU we test drove was terrible on road, but it was the I4T & was on Michelin highway tires [/threaddrift]

I took my first 2 over 100K, although I bought them used. My 08 I bought with 30K miles and put close to 100K on it in 6 years. Every time I think about trading this thing in on a newer one I remind myself that it's basically still brand new and has all the work done to it that I want, so yeah she's not going anywhere. Especially since I'm not putting crazy miles on it like I used to.

My work commute went from 1 hr each way to 15 minutes each way, plus I get 2 day work from home a week, so yes the mileage definitely staying low and I like it that way

Had a white stock runner park next to me at work.
Had to snap a picture and another one of all the salty goodness
The shiny ceramic coated paint still looks great in the sun, but God am I sick of road salt

Yeah, maintaining a clean exterior in the winter is at best, just a temporary state for a couple of days...still, at least it looks like your roads are clear and yeah, the paint looks good; it's shiny even though its dirty (if that makes sense).

Thanks man, I'm excited with the new direction and parts. I'm hoping they were worth the 2 month wait! Can't wait to see them on the truck one of these days

So the original MLED projectors that I had were not made to accept Demon Eyes, and needed to be disassembled and finagled in order to get them to work
Well, the MLED 2.0's ARE made to accept Demon Eyes, and the difference is quite noticeable. So that was nice to see
The new LED high beam projectors, are NOT designed to work with demon eyes, and it's quite a b*tch... But like everything else I do, I take the challenge and customize. The response that I got from a professional light shop was to cut a square in the top of the projector housing and glue them in, um, no... (Not my picture, but what they were suggesting)
First I tried to line up the same brackets that I used for my 2.0 projectors, which quickly showed that the holes were not going to work, and I started looking into drilling my own holes...
After some more trial and error I discovered that I couldn't get the brackets to sit right with the wires underneath or the support brackets, so I started trimming and grinding. I not only cut the whole lower half of the bracket off, but I also had to grind 2 grooves into the bottom so it could sit lower
And here's a test fit with the Demon eye crammed in under the projector housing. (It's crooked in the pic but has since been straightened)
Which led me to my next challenge. If I left the wiring in this configuration I would have had to drill a decent sized hole in the painted black reflector on the high beam side. So I definitely didn't want to do that if at all possible.
So after a LOT of trial and error, I figured out how to get the wire grommets out of the back of the threaded shaft and fished the 9005 wires back out. Then was able to fish (after multiple failed attempts) the demon eye wires through the shaft and then refish the projector wires back through.
I then trimmed the rear wire grommets to accept the larger amount of wires.
And voila, I achieved the impossible. For reference, the amount of modification I was going to have to do to my other 7 LED projectors was FAR more substantial than the custom brackets I ended up making, so I'm happy with the nice sleek look that I achieved. Very proud of this, and I'm the first one I've seen that has done it with these suckers.
So now everything comes cleanly out the back and I don't have to drill additional holes in my headlight housings :gheywave:
More progress to come soon
