Which is faster? Rode in a 2006 V6 7 years ago, pretty spunky at WOT around 30 mph!

4G had that torquey V8 available, but the 4.0 V6 is no slouch either.
My parents had 2 4Gs at different times, a V6 SR5 4wd & a V8 Limited 4wd.
The V6 seemed more responsive, but the V8 faster overall.
I'd imagine the 5G is pretty similar, but nicer to drive.

If you're looking at power/weight, the 4th gen V8 and 5th gen V6 are on par. Of course the V8 had more torque on tap down low, but in the end, both are about the same.

If you really want to dork out on it, this is from when I was shopping 4Runners years ago:

My 08 V6 had less throttle lag than my 17, but with all the mods I've done I've pretty much eliminated the throttle lag. My 5th gen even with heavy ass wheels gets up and goes better than my 08 ever did. My 08 got WAY better gas mileage though

I do remember our 4G V6 got pretty decent highway MPG, even on heavy load range E Michelin LTXs.
The V8 wasn't bad either, likely since it took less effort to get up to speed.

Got the last couple issues sorted out with the sPod, the Amber "Raptor" lights now come on when the ignition is turned. I also got the bluetooth and app up and running and was able to tie the 2 LED switches together so if I hit the light bar switch the LED pods come on as well. Came in real handy driving on back roads last night, and I don't have to fumble for multiple switches when a car is coming the other direction. Pretty cool, can't wait to add more accessories to it

Looks really good and I'm not trying to start something here but damn, I've never seen rust like that and so quickly. sPOD really cleaned up the engine bay and once you get some decals for those buttons, it should look clean; not sure about that velcro MPG thing though...

Yeah I have the decals, just wanted to get everything mounted and ironed out before I started applying them. Will be nice to have the black stickers on instead of the white switches.

It does other things, I use it to monitor the alternator and other functions as well, there's actually a way to monitor tire pressure and other metrics also. I plan to update the radio eventually and put in a touchscreen with OBD2 diagnostics, if/when that happens I will ditch the ScanGauge. I have the 3D printed mount, however since I take my dash apart frequently, the velcro that was provided made sense to me.

New Mod!

So some tiny dick, balless jealous little bitch decided that my nicely modded truck needed a new mod... Racing stripes.... Just discovered yesterday, some balless sack of shit keyed the whole way down the passenger side of my car. I never drive aggressively or park like a dick so I'm not sure what would possess some d-bag to do this to my beautiful truck..... Thankfully (hopefully) it appears that they didn't break through the clear coat, so I'm hoping that I can buff it out, but my god does it make me fucking sick!

They even scratched down along the rear passenger handle

Hard to see, but the scratch goes all the way onto the plastic of the tail light... Unreal

I had been putting off getting a dash cam, but it's been next on my list after the sPod and my last few purchases, so I'm definitely going to grab one now. Wish I had this fucking coward on camera

They're such a balless coward that they did it on the passenger side where I was least likely to discover it, so I don't know when or where it occurred...

It is really hard to tell from the pictures, but if it isn't that deep I wonder if it was a child who did it. My brother keyed the entire passenger side of my dad's brand new 4Runner in 2005 a few days after he purchased it.

Also, it looks like one line all the way through from what I can tell on the pictures. Maybe something else caused it.

It's a straight line from fender to tail light, including across a door handle, it's clearly deliberate. If it was a kid or some asshole I'm glad they didn't know what they were doing

you'd be surprised how often things aren't deliberate.
People are self involved and don't even know you exist.
Plus, with your bubbly personality, I wouldn't assume anyone would do that to you on porpoise.

That seriously would buff out though, almost positive.

That's terrible, but my solution has always just been to drive through the desert for a couple hours. Then you can't tell which one is your car being keyed and which one is just a Sonoran Pinstripe.

Our dark navy blue Suburban was covered in 'Mesquite Racing Stripes' from its time at the ranch.
Now it's primer gray & camo, and has been converted into a 1987 Avalanche, and liver permanently at our ranch. Hasn't been street legal in over a decade.

Yeah, my female had real bad separation anxiety when my first boy died from cancer back in 2014, within 2 weeks we did a meet and greet and adopted Charlie. This time she's a lot older and didn't seem to mind as much, at least at first she really enjoyed being the focus of attention. After a few weeks she definitely was showing signs like she missed him, but I didn't want to rush anything. We went to 2 different rescues and met a few different males and we didn't have a real connection with any of them. We mainly left it up to her since she's the boss and after 2 unsuccessful meet and greets at the second rescue we were ready to give up when the shelter lady said she wanted to try a totally different type of dog. I had mainly been looking for Pit males again, but neither of them got along with her. Then she brought in this calm little dude, he's a German Sheppard and Beagle Mix (I wonder who was on top), and she was completely different, very comfortable and laid down at my feet and just chilled. He was very friendly and not pushy, very calm demeanor and they instantly clicked. He came over and sniffed her, and they started licking and kissing each other, you could hear harps playing in the background. This new little dude's name is Maynard

Hell yes I'm a Tool fan, I've seen them live 5 times. The fact that his name was Maynard was perfect, we talked about changing his name but I said no way. Also my favorite trumpet player when I was younger was Maynard Ferguson who I saw play and met in person when I was in HS.
