Don't know much about them but I have always admired their looks/sound/performance.

I always liked the way they looked, and inside stock theyre whisper quiet. give a nice little hiss then boom.... gone lol i drove one with the manumatic (gear tronic) and it was awesome. id prefer manual but volvo, much like lexus doesnt know wtf a clutch is.

i didnt really respect the performance until i drove it. 270 hp, 280 ft lbs of tq.. longgggg gears, tight suspension.. gah. im drooling.

I've always respected them. I think it's a bit of an old man's car but I'd rock one at my age...

All I'll say is that they're really expensive to repair in terms of both parts and labour.

^ no different then the BMW or Saab im considering. plus im a DIY//mechanically inclined person, aside from hot tank and planing a head i can pretty much do it lol so im not too intimidated by repair costs.

As for being an old mans car.. eh, i guess. i like the GS3/400 as well as the 5 series sooo...

My friend had a Taupe colored 01. I never thought much of them but it was comfy and roomy. Miles aren't bad for being 8 years old either, about 11k a year.

Haha damn that's nuts. Hopefully those tires aren't too pricey. Usually on the big luxury sedans, they have to have those crazy all season touring tires. I had a set of those on my 01 CL-S and they were $1100

They're good cars. The T6 is a Light pressure type turbo, so it feels pretty good. Here's a Volvo site that has good stuff for the car:

I worked on one at CC. It's very quiet inside like everyone said, pretty cushy. I like them, but then again if you know me, you know that I like almost everything.

^^ yeah i was reading about them on consumer reports.. said they scored excellent for no major engine issues, above average for minor engine issues, excellent on no major trans issues, average for minor issues, and poor for driveline... wtf does that mean? if it gives a rating for engine and transmission... what could the driveline be? its FWD.. no driveshaft aside from the axles. I know they have a reverse gear engagement issue, but aside from that and a possible electrical issue they seem to be ok.

The issues I ran into with my 99 V70 were: bad thermostat (warranty repair), rear window motor (warranty repair), two sets of rotors (one warranty, one not), and a battery.

Volvo's are not that bad. If you can do some work yourself, there not as astronomical as other European cars.
