Some Audi models, especially the V6 ones, experience a delay with the start/stop function. My parents' Q7 and Q5 2.0T are fine with the start/stop, but the Q8 has startled me a few times at stop signs. It shuts off before I start moving again, and then there is a significant delay before I can go again. Another thing that annoys me is the sudden change in speed while using adaptive cruise control. For example, when I have the adaptive cruise set at 70mph, and the car detects a speed limit sign change to 55mph, the car slows down so quickly that the car behind me might think I am brake checking.

Paddles shifter depends on how the gauge cluster. The long paddles will cover extra viewing space. For cars that lean toward the racing/track will have the long paddles "to cover a broad sweep". For touring cars that need more information on the cluster, would likely have small paddles on the steering wheel. I do wish the ones I have are a little longer just show the sportiness of the steering wheel.

One of the reasons I stopped unit ACC on my commute.
It would pick up the HOV limit & start slowing. CC set to 70, detects the 45 zone in the HOV & slows. Not a great situation in 70+mph commuting traffic.
The intelligent ACC is nice, but some situations like that make it lacking a bit.

That said, my Explorer does a much better job at coasting vs braking when it detects a vehicle ahead. Our Expedition is more abrupt with it.

I think my wife would crap her pants if I did a spontaneous $125K purchase.....Oh, and the divorce would also be spontaneous (on her part).

Yeah but then you'd have an RS6.

Oh hey! In my defense, I wasn't the one who looked at it, and she was the one who asked me to test drive it.

and you went for it, not thinking it’s a trap like “which one of my friends you find the hottest?”
Kiddin…

did you ppf it? Does the RS6 have a lot of carbon fiber? I saw one a while back pretty early when they came out and lots of CF all around the bottom of the car (front lip, side skirts, rear diffuser) eagerly await a driveway, curb or some moron at a car meet that can’t watch his step. Anyways, I didn’t know if that one was just crazy spec or that’s how they are.

I dropped the car off yesterday for the PPF, I could only justified for the front, full hood, mirrors, front fenders, rocker panels and bottom 1/2 of the rear fenders. The full PPF would be $6k and that's a little too much. For the RS6, mine only have some matte CF, the dash, doors, and somewhere else I forgot. The full CF is a $7.6K package (matte carbon exterior mirror housing, front spoiler, front side flaps, side sill inserts, rear diffuser insert, and few other black add-ons), and the 22" magnesium wheels. I will let this ease off for a little bit, then will look into JB4, front lip, rear spoiler and the CF air-box.

Oh, there was none of those traps, but heck, we can't read their minds. :-)

I like the idea of the daytime driving lamp on that Skoda, but the beginning of the hood is too soft.

Not the tacky plastic "rugged" though. I think that is overdone with cars like the Outback, V90/C60 Cross Country, etc...

Always have a soft spot for the R, and the 850R. Of course with a manual.

Thanks boys...yes sir...high boost 2.5 turbo 5 cylinder AWD with a manual.
R is always AWD and another fun fact...R always has GLASS headlights. Regular V70 gets plastic.

We went to Germany and Austria for our honeymoon... I now know and appreciate that station wagons are alive and well! I too want an RS6.
We rented this little diesel number and drove to seven different countries:

The auto start and stop was a little annoying, but no where as freakin' annoying as it is on the new Tahoe! I immediately installed an autostop device on that bitch....

I had an A4 Diesel in Spain. That thing was awesome. 150 Kph at ~2200 rpm..... The gearing was perfect (and yes it was a manual). And can verify with the R headlights: I owned a 99 V70, normal 5 cylinder 2.5. Very smooth. 120 MPH was easy on the autobahn, it just took a while to get there. And the down force with that long roof line. Yeah, you know it when you feel it.

I see this RS6 around town all the time, but usually too slow with the phone to take a pic... I've always loved the RS6 and love that it has the Thule Vector Alpine roof box, which... in my opinion is the best looking roof box! (it's why I also have it on my car, albeit... it looks even more amazing on the RS6).

For me, the wheels seem a touch big. I'm not into slammed cars, but being lowered is a nice look.
