I will always lust over the B5 S4 - just the thought of electrical, MAF, seals, how bad it's been molested by it's past owner, and turbo issues steers me clear.
One day though, one day.

After driving my Mom's AP2 over the weekend, I decided that I'm going to pickup some stock suspension and jump ship.
In my few experiences with F&F, they've been cheap and ride like garbage.
I guess you get what you pay for .

Correct! Just the suspension.
My F&Fs are at a pretty reasonable ride height, see below:
I just feel like regardless of what damper settings you put them on, the F&Fs are bouncy -I feel like the whole car is riding on the springs with no support from the shock itself.
If I budget right, the tax return will go towards some KW V3s as I originally planned

I personally thought the buddy clubs rode pretty well...my buddy that bought megan tracks thought his felt bouncy too.
Best ride I experienced was the original one, espelir springs on stock shocks.

Yeah, Flex are usually $1700-1800, I think. You can get it for like $1300-1400 if you hit a great deal. I'll be getting his for $800 slightly used.

Maybe your stock shocks were blown. There's no secret to BC being one of the lowest quality coilovers in the market. No offense whatsoever though! I know a lot of my friends have them too. They know what they are getting.

im with you, I've had about 6/7 different brands of suspension ranging greatly in price...
my car feels more solid on BC's than it did stock.
I agree, stiff does not equal bad in my case... I don't like squishy or "floating" suspension on my roadster, I want to feel whats beneath the car
Then again, if you know how to adjust the damper and spring rates, you can always make yourself more satisfied with just about any setup. (I've changed my damper settings at least 5 times since putting them on the car) I love how the car rides now.

Update: Car goes in for a new clutch on Monday !
No more slipping
It'll be all OEM except I'm going with an AP1 flywheel (8 pounds lighter than the AP2), should make the car a little more responsive & rev happy.

Track day sounds good to me - car should be track ready in the next couple of months
Currently needs:
New tires (Potenza RE11s)
New rotors & pads
Alignment
Do you plan on doing any in February or March?

Things other Car forums/pages say about the s2000 on a daily basis.
"I hear the s2k are dangerous, they will spin out if you shift at redline."
"They are unreliable now because they are getting old."
these kids make my eyes bleed.

Bought with 115,000 on the clock in January, my AP2 just rolled over 134,000 last week and I don't feel any guilt driving it hard. Car comes back from a clutch job today
How's that AP1 treating you?

What did you pay for your clutch job and where, if I may ask? I need to get mine done when it comes out of winter storage, I'm too much of a wuss to do it myself but I'm scared of the quote. I'll probably get a valve adjustment at the same time. It's sitting at ~105k right now.

Yes - it's on the high side, however I'm getting a new & lighter AP1 flywheel instead of getting my old one resurfaced (adds roughly $300 to the job). Once it's all said and done, I'll get my old Flywheel resurfaced and sell it on Craigslist to drive down cost a bit.
Clutch job should run you around $1000 - $1100 depending on the shop.

Got pictures of my flywheel - lets just say it has seen better days
Clutch disk measured out at 6.50mm thickness, mechanic says 6.00mm is minimum.
I'll give driving impressions tonight and more so when it's broken in.

I too am looking for a daily driver since my commute will be doubled starting next week - I'm thinking of buying my roommates '94 Toyota pickup with the indestructible 22RE.

New clutch impressions:
Wow
Things I noticed right off the bat:
1: Clutch pedal is much softer - I was almost convinced my car had a aftermarket clutch kit before getting the work done, but everything that came out was original. Could have been a lack of lubrication or maybe a bad throwout bearing?
2: Revs climb & drop effortlessly with the lighter flywheel, car feels like it has more throttle response. I'm excited because it'll only be more responsive when new motors mounts go in (confirmed that mine are shot)
3: Clutch engagement - much smaller window of engagement, almost stalled it this morning and on my lunch today.
All in all, for any AP2s doing a clutch job I'd definitely recommend spending the extra $300ish for a new and lighter AP1 flywheel and not getting a resurface.

I believe it is Sebring silver. Silver stone wasn't available in 02
I bought it because it was too cheap to pass up. I have yet to put it on the car but once I do I'll see how it looks with my spoiler. If I like it ill keep.
