Yes sir...I loved the ability to slide the phone in with one hand and to see maps/text.

Installed the NRG torque damper this weekend. Not a bad mod, car feels a little more planted especially on upshifts & downshifts - turn-in is crisper too!

What kind of tires did you get on those new legs of yours?

they have some pretty worn Potenza RE-11's on it now. previous owner said he loved them but its hard to take tire advice from random people.

i'll be re-wrapping them in the next week or so... tire shopping today actually.

^ Guy knows his tires - RE-11s are great.

My mom's AP2 needed new tires and I recommended that she should buy some Potenza RE-11s. It's amazing the difference between those and my Hancook Ventus V12 Evo 2s after driving both cars back to back.

From what I can gather, they grip harder and feel softer on the road - tread life is less.

Road noise is about the same.

I'll second the RE-11s (or RE-11As... Same tire, just different sizes).

The tire itself is heavy. So you lose a bit of straight line acceleration (not much) but gain some crazy traction. I have yet to drive on a tire that handles as well as the REs. Simply phenomenal. They do very well in the wet and they just get better once warmed up on dry pavement. They don't get greasy like many other tires do (or, rather, it takes longer for them to get to that point).

Word of caution, these tires will let your drive to the maximum potential of your car, but they don't give too much notice before breaking traction. Other tires give you more notice before doing so, but I attribute this to being that you're travelling that much faster on these things. Don't take this as necessarily being negative. You can push these tires HARD before getting to that point- much harder than is necessary for daily driving, lol. They'll start chirping before that point, and even then, you can still push a little harder lol.

Although tread life is lower than the V12s, I got some good mileage out of them on my 1999 Civic SiR and now on my 6mt TL. As long as your not spinning your tires often, they'll last quite a while. My buddy got 2.5 summers out of his REs on his S2k and he drives like I do.

thanks for the great advice.. I may have to just stick with the current choice then.

I cant give a great review as the fronts are down to 60%ish and the rear are in the 25% range.. but once new I will def. share my opinion.

I agree, its the ones I was originally after before stumbling on those cheap V1's... now I just have to be like my fellow RS and throw spacers on them..

Appreciate it. I still have the J's Racing hood but it's uninstalled. I also sold the OEM CR trunk/wing I had to a friend - may end up buying it back.

If it makes you feel better though, I sometimes see a stock S2000 and wish mine was back to stock.

Funny you say that. I mod everything I owned. My first Ap1 that I put 165k miles was modded (wheels, suspension).

On my AP2, since I bought it, I added OEM lip and tint, in almost 8 years of owning it.

No mods.

I am old and boring now

Haha, it happens. Part of me wants to get the OEM AP2 lip and swap bumpers again, then part of me wants to go crazy and get like Spoon S-tai front bumper and go nuts.

Right now I'm waiting to install the rest of my 'go-fast' bits.

Gorgeous, man...I actually like the red hood much better...and I already hate you, those Regas were what I wanted.

Well, that and I don't have an S anymore.

RS, go for it, man...15 front/20 or 25 rear and it'll sit nice and flush. or you could be smarter than me and not roll and cut a fucking thing and just enjoy it low and not overly flush.

Thanks! I've debated painting the hood and leaving the vents raw CF and painting the rest but not sure yet.

And the Regas were what I always wanted too, as soon as I found a set in that config I scooped them up.

I might get a pair of 15's and try them on front and rear..

maybe do a 10/15 split.. just to get rid of the super sunk look. it doesn't have to be perfectly flush, just look like they belong in the fenders.

Yeah, the 10 would require version 1 spacer and then longer studs. Fk that.

so most 15mm are adapter spacers? I thought the studs would poke through 15 as well... nice to know.

Well, the 10 is very little material to have the type that you bolt to existing studs. a 20MM normally is thick enough to hide the stud before you hit the back of the wheel face...although the car came with a 15MM rear bolt on spacer with the V2 wheels, so I know it'll work.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense...I know what I'm trying to say.

Love the S2K, Muffindude.

Man up and get a real GT wing in the back. S2Ks look proper with them.
