Love the color. You should drop the back just a bit more though.

Im shopping for an 01-02 V6 Sedan. Anything in particular I should watch out for? The motor and tranny doesn't matter to me

Rust

I dunno how much luck you'll have finding one with decent paint, though. Have you considered a 2G TL?

I have, but for the price, not worth it. A TL-S would make everything much easier as all I'd need to do is swap OEM parts from it to the CL.

Also the TLs temp gauge takes its reading through the ECU, so getting it to display coolant temp properly (or at all) is going to suck. The 6G Accord on the other hand takes a reading straight from the sensor.

Any known issues with the 8G besides the brakes? Pretty close to pulling the trigger on an 09 V6 EX-L coupe. It's certified, so I think I'm covered for the most part

None that I can think of. Both 8Gs in my family have been pretty good reliability wise ('08 v6 sedan @ ~60k, 08 6-6 coupe @ 130k).

so wednesday morning i was forced over from the center lane to the outter lane on the highway, where there was some seriously deep water 1-2 feet. after recovering from the swerve, the engine rightfully seized up from the consumption of water through the AEM CAI.

due to having to get to work, the car was pushed to a nearby lot and picked up yesterday afternoon. i had obligations so i could not get to the issue last night either.

today when i get home, i will be removing the spark plugs and turning the motor over to remove any water from the valves. ( i was also told to spray WD-40 into the valves after removing plugs for water displacement) someone confirm that please if possible.

my question is, what else besides ridding the valves of water, and checking my oil for a milky color should i do to ensure this thing gets started back up safely.

is it really bad that it has gone over a day with water in it? i really wanted to get to it earlier but just couldnt. im hoping no real damage was done, the car stalled out almost immediately after inhaling the water, and was not ran at all afterwards. the car wont even try to turn over at the moment, so i may have to turn it by way of socket and ratchet.

any extra input would be greatly appreciated, i really dont want to lose this car to a little bit of water.

^ problem isnt really that water is sitting in it as it is that water doesnt compress. When water gets into the cylinders it usually breaks stuff, like rods, pistons etc. Pull all the plugs and try cranking it over to expel water out of the cyls. If it doesnt turn over with the plugs removed you may be needing a new motor.

^ Good advice.

Good luck, hopefully nothing is bent or broken.

Will your insurance cover the motor if it's hydrolocked? Even with your CAI?

If it's not covered and you are paying for an engine rebuild, you might want to go on the V6Pee and check out the J32A3 engine swaps from the 3G TL. It's a straight bolt on and I hear all you have to adjust is a few pins if you plan on using your Accord's ECU. TL ECU works with no modification, too.

Cool thing about that? You have a motor you can modify on the side ... cammed J33 / J36 build crosses my mind.

the car spit the water out, it now turns over, this morning it sputtered ever so slightly but wouldnt quite catch.

on one hand it seems like im heading towards the clear. on the other, i dont know why it wont fire after the water has been removed and spark plugs re-installed.

Same thing happened to my friend back in a day one rod was bent and it wouldn't start. Change oil too its pretty large probability that you got the water past the rings to the oil. Let its a dry use some contact cleaner but im pretty sure it's done. If u couldn't turn the engine after it was filled with water it mean it was locked from water not being compressed.(obviously)

It does turn over though.

Maybe the spark plugs were ruined by the water?

The one thing my 99 4 cylinder auto does that i'm not sure if i can take care of it. When i'm coming to a stop, i can feel the trans downshift and it does it every time. It happens when i am coming to a stop it almost lurches forward or you can feel it.
I changed the fluid and thought it felt better.
Is there a sensor that might cause this?

Some owners of the 3G TL have had some success in replacing pressure switches.

I wonder what i could do besides replace it to fix it? The car shifts perfectly besides that.
I'm the only one that drives it so i don't have to worry about someone else abusing it.
