I feel so nostalgic....i bought my 335 around the same time last year. Your gonna love it, dude!
Honestly...the 6spd in the 335 left a bad taste. Had i had the auto I would have been less inclined to upgrade. You are gonna love it !! These cars are the "perfect" car...at least for me. Good power, good room, nice size trunk ... and the are reliable. Very solid feeling. Shit....i'm think i'm getting a chubby!

Yea, it's a pretty surreal feeling. It's a two year old car for crying out loud! The G35 didn't even get me this fired up. Must be the badge.

Scrib had a G35 before, so I'm sure he knows about rwd and snow... Since this car is an auto, it'll be easier to drive in the snow. With a manual tranny it's easy to break the tires loose and start spinning if you are too aggressive with dropping the clutch. I sometimes just start off in 2nd gear in the snow w/ my CL just so I don't spin too much...
Of course snow tires on the stock rims wouldn't hurt, and then Scrib could get a dedicated summer setup

I've driven a few 6mt 335i's with a short throw (the real oem short throw, not just the knob); it helps a bit but only because you're getting that rubbery feeling for a shorter amount of time. It doesn't actually make the shifts feel any more precise. If mine was 6mt I'd do the cdv delete and short throw, but it still wouldn't be a great gearbox.

does the M3 6mt have the same gearbox and rubbery feel?

Not home yet... But will be leaving work soon.
One minor issue --- There's a front plate/holder on the car. And I think they drilled into the bumper. Front plates are not needed in Indiana... So do I leave it on and perhaps put a Purdue Vanity plate or can I pull it off and plug the holes?

So after a slow go home and some errands this afternoon, the short summary is that it's a tremendous car.
It's tough to judge based on the shitty road conditions, but the car handled just fine in several inches of snow on the A/S tires...
It's got too many damn levers and buttons, so I actually have to read the manual to figure all the shit out. Comfort Access is really works great. I like the adaptive headlights and the rear distance control has already come in useful. Active steering is somewhat of a mystery and not something I can say I would pay for if I were to build a new one.
For what I paid and what I got in terms of options, I couldn't be happier.
No pics yet... The car is friggin' filthy.
