The Official BMW 1-Series Discussion Thread
I haven't seen a thread around here about this peppy new car, so i thought i would make one just for conversation/debate sake. I went and looked at them today and did a test drive. Afterwards the salesman and i got to talking and he said if i wanted one it wouldnt be able to come in until august!
overall they are really nice and much roomier/bigger in person.
discuss!

i know im prob alone on that one, but im relatively young and the e92 just seems a little too grown up for my tastes. im looking for something that looks and feels a little more agile. plus i have always had much love for the old 2002 bmw's.

I used to love Astons but now i just tired of hearing the name.

I like the 135i, well the headlights still bother me.

I'm thinking the 135 would make an excellent CPO weekend toy. I need a back seat for my boys.

I'd rather get a slightly used 335i.. which would be cheaper than a new 135i anyways.

My only complaint on the car is the weird saggy belt line on the side of the car, and the headlights, other than that it's not so bad.
The 335i Coupe shits all over it though IMO, so 335i Coupe ftmfw!
on the topic of ordering BMWs.... The salesman specifically said that if i wanted one it wouldnt be until late july/early august that i would be able to get it.
question to you bmw owners...how true is that? this dealer was pretty small, so if i went to a larger bmw dealer would their answer be any different, or is that pretty much the standard for a new model bmw?
thanks.

I've put some serious consideration into a 135. I like small cars and I don't think it looks bad at all, especially in light colors, like posted above. Plus you can't argue with the performance. You're basically getting a E46 M3 for 35K+.

When i ordered my 335i the production slots were filled up for few months. Im talking PRODUCTION slots, where even after the car is finished there, it still takes few weeks to get to the dealer.
I got lucky and found a slot that a guy had canceled and changed his order. Even then it took me 10 weeks to get my car. That was even a year after the car was released!
If the dealer is small then maybe they filled up their allocations too fast. Try finding a bigger dealer and see what they say. Either way, it still takes 6-8 weeks to get the car after ordering it.
Nice feeling knowing a car is being built just for you though.

I still think its worth buying a new 335i only because BMW is offering 3.9% on 08 models. BMW hardly ever offers any specials rates on new! Or you can find a loaded 335i with 10k miles for under $35k easily.
The car market just stinks in general. You can get some amazing deals on all different makes and models.
I only saw one, never test drove it cuz the sales man was an asshole but I cant believe that they are over 50k with some options. thats a bit too much for 135 I think. starting price was 43 or 44 I believe and then you slap 1 option and boon you ae on 50 or over with interest of 6% it just isnt worth it.
Too heavy, too expensive... if the dollar wasn't in the shitter and the bmw could have priced it better it might be a bit more attractive...
I might rock a used 1-series in a few years tho...
One thing the 1-series did is revitalize the small RWD coupe market... 1-series, Genesis Coupe, Toyota/Subaru rumors, etc etc make for more options which is always better for the consumer...
