^ Sly,

Do you ever plan on selling your Avant? Just curious. Your combination is beautiful and quite rare. Being a titanium and 6MT.

Not planning on selling the Avant right now. Thank for the kind words.

The Ibis/Titanium/Avant/6psd + sport package is a very rare breed indeed.

Alright guys, since you have mentioned mods, let me be clear with my intensions. I plan to keep the mods to a minimum ( that's what I tell my wife ) So here is what I will do

Tint windows
3M clear bra
AWE Exhaust
AWE cold air intake
AME tuning
That is it for now, all that will cost enough, for starters. Thoughts ?

Looks like a great start. However are there any gains to install the AWE intake? I'd most likely skip that.

i had a clear bra on our avant but had to have it removed after only a year because it started to yellow. i am never going to do that again.

i cant speak for the b8, but the intake on thr stock 2.0t for the b7 was engineered very well and an aftermarket CAI has never been shown to offer any noticeable gains so most dont do it. some do it for looks. strange if you ask me as the money could be better spent on many other pieces.

+1 on the intake. I have an aftermarket intake and the only real difference there was, was with the sound.

List looks good! But question, why AWE tune over the APR one?

I'd skip the intake as well. You don't get much anyway.

for the $300 that you would roughly be spending on the intake spend it things like swapping out the differential mounts or transmission mounts, or some euro parts for looks.

Yes there are, but the most gains are to be had with the AWE tuning.

Yellow ? What color is your avant ? I had it on my Celestial Silver RL, no issues, I also have it on my wifes Honda Pilot, once again no issues. Maybe the dealer you used had a lesser quality tape?

I know someone who has the AWE tune and therefor know what I am getting. Also there is a AWE shop in my area, not sure there is a APR one. I believe the cost would be similar, haven't dug into it that far though, don't want to get all amped up and no car

Our Avant is Ibis White , so it was very noticeable, not as noticeable when put on anything other than white IMO.

Is this the intake system you are referring to known as the S-flo system seen here:

Very nice short list of mods. All I wanted for my S4 is an exhaust. This car is too quiet for its performance.

Anyway, these are going into my S4 on Black Friday. Then I can hit the tracks with confidence that the brake is there.

No, that isn't the one I was looking at, but then again, nothing is final either

To be honest you can't go wrong with either! AWE and APR are both reputable companies. I guess I'm biased towards APR since I have their tune and have had a problem free and great experience.

There is a nice APR dealer in Redmond Washington
ACHTuning

Just throwing that out there.

Yeah I get that you would be a lil biased, you speak from your experience and it sounds like you have had a good one with APR. To be honest, I will still do some research once I get the car and do some more side by side comparisons and eventually make my final decision. I read about Achtung before, but I am not sure how reliable they are, I will look into that as well. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for your tune ?

Well it looks like I am just about four weeks away from delivery and I have to say it is hard staying patient. I don't have an actual delivery date, just an estimation, which to me makes it even harder staying patient.

Ok, a little update on my car purchase and it is turning into a nightmare. I have been Emailing and leaving voice mails for the salesman and he has been refusing to get back to me. I normally buy a new car every 3 to 4 years, I have bought several, but have never had this happen. My car is supposed to be here in a few weeks and I just wanted to make sure we had all the finances ironed out, but he didn't seem to agree. I waited for over a week before I took the next step, I contacted the sales manager, told him what I needed, that the salesman wouldn't return my calls and that my next step was to contact the owner, who I happen to know. Guess who called me in less then 5 minutes ? Now the payments have supposedly changed and not just by a little, good thing I saved every Email that was sent to me, I ain't going down without a fight !

that is a nightmare. As long as you have everything documented it should be good.

Your experience was a the complete opposite of mine. When we placed our order, we ironed out all the finances, signed agreements and all that dictated the special interest rate they were giving me as well as the price of the vehicle which we agreed to. After the car arrived, all we had to do was finish the finance docs and that was it.

sorry to hear about your experiences dude. I hope it works out for you in the end.

Well to be fair, it wasn't so much procrastination as it was not having the tools to do the job. I wanted these specific ramps but they are so damn expensive. I guess if I really wanted to put them on I could have hunted for a used set or fished around to see if someone on the boards could have helped me. Oh well.

Right now I am set on taking delivery and getting my payment to where I want it, once I get all that straight, I will be happy. I will however take my car to a different Audi dealer for service, I only went to this one because I was offered Invoice + $500 which no other dealer would even come close to.

I thought about it, but I really don't want to cost this guy his job. I just want everything to be as we had discussed. It is the Christmas time and no one deserves to be unemployed, especially around this time of the year. I am not saying he would be fired, but you never know. He has contacted me and is now working on stuff and is also responding to all my Emails.
