I only have one chip that I know of and it's in a spot that wouldn't have been protected by the clear bra anyway. Then again I haven't taken the car on many long trips and have just shy of 26K on the car.

This will be my weekend car, so I am hoping it won't see to much wear and tear either. I am still looking into getting the clear bra, just will make sure I am covered if it does start to change colors. The shop I go to in Bellevue is top line, so I don't have any worries there.

Very in my experience. Need to take care of it obviously but people are afraid of the V8 because there are isolate failures that ruin the engine and lead to $5-6k repair jobs.

The RS4 has issues with carbon buildup because Audi's direct injection causes some buildup because oil in the cylinder ends up fouling the valves in some cases.

An oil catch can will help alleviate the problem but you'll probably need to have someone pull a spark plug and check the cylinder with a scope to see if there's a lot of carbon build up.

That said, I would definitely get one.

Damn....3 years ago? That was about the time I took the Hotchkis RSB off my B7. I could've installed yours at the same time.

So a rs4 is worth $25k more than a s4 because it has 74hp more? Theres got tO be more to that... Are the engines completely different? Theyre both 4.2L v8.....

Yes, they are completely different engines. The RS4 engine is (I think) the same engine as the R8, essentially.

The S4 is the same engine as the A8, A6 4.2, etc (essentially).

There are a lot of little things. Different front seats, better brakes, etc.

However, I do not think the RS4 is going to be $25k more than a same year S4. $15-18k probably, but not $25k. Still a lot of money but in the end, it's all about whether or not you think it's worth it.

So I gave my salesman the chance to make things right, let him know I was dissatisfied with the service and that it was not acceptable to ignore my Emails and messages I left for him at the store. I talked to the store manager and the guy called me within minutes, answered some of my questions and went right back to avoiding me. He left me with no other choice then to contact the owner, which I did this morning. I am hoping to hear back in the next couple of days, I would like to wrap up the financing part before the car gets here and find out the delivery date, is that to much to ask ?

So I guess the salesman got a phone call from the owner, because all of a sudden I am getting responses to my Emails and my phone has been ringing ! Well I now know that my car was built on December 7th and is on a boat, on its way to the Houston Port. I should be taking delivery the first week of January, maybe even the second week. At least I know where I stand and what I can expect, it sure took a long time to get to this point. This could have all been avoided, if only the guy would have responded to my questions when I asked them.

Ok, my car is officially in country as of Tuesday. It should be on the back of a Semi coming from Houston. How long does it take to drive from Houstom to Seattle ? I know the answer. . . . . . a long time ! ! ! *ugh*

Ok, so the delivery is still supposed to be on Friday, hopefully I can get in the same night to pick it up. I have an appointment for Monday morning to have the clear bra put on and to get the Windows tinted. Sly, I asked about the yellowing of the clear bra and they told me that 3M says it happened to about 1% of all vehicles and a lot of that is due to poor maintaining of the actual bra ( I know you take care of your ride ). The shop I am going to is a high end store, I have been there with my last four cars, always receive the best service and quality product, so I feel pretty safe there. Also I was able to work a deal, since I am repeat customer several times over, everything is only going to cost me $1000, I thought that was pretty descent.

Yea, I dunno what to say about the clear bra, I wash my car regularly, waxed when needed, complete detail twice a year. Perhaps I need to do a better job, but the car is well cleaned.

That's why I added I know you take care of you car, otherwise you wouldn't be here. According to 3M you are an unlucky part of 1%, but I will keep everyone posted on my upcoming experience.

Yea, I know why you added it. It was an unlucky situation. 3M does make some great products, no doubt there.

Ok, so when I picked up my car I noticed I didn't have the supercharged badge on the side, instead it says V6T,something I have never seen. The salesperson said that they changed it with the 2012's, but I saw two s$'s on the floor that had the badge. I wasn't going to make a huge deal out of it, I can always change it later if I feel like it. What do you guys think, yay or nay ?

I personally like the V6T or even no badge versus the Supercharged badge.

But if you want it:

PPLAPW - Thanks, but my point was that I was told by the sales person that it came with the supercharged badge and I was lied to. I might look into having the dealer cover the cost if I pursue the issue. I personally think the supercharged badge looks great, although the V6T is also growing on me.

If that's the case (that the dealer promised the supercharged badge) I would definitely bring it to their attention. After all, you ordered and waited for your S4.

I'm not aware of the packages offered for the B8, is the supercharged badge part of a package you ordered?

Actually its not, but the sales person told me it was, it was his mistake. That's why I really haven't said to much yet. When I did mention it on Friday evening, they then lied to my face, wasn't necessary and I have had nothing but issues with this dealership. It really is such a small issue, when I consider everything else, so I'm not gonna stress it.

Thanks, but I am not debadging is not in the plans and I am keeping the modding to a minimum. I like the looks of the car the way it is, exhaust, clear bra and window tint, then we will see from there

Yea, that's what I would do. In fact, during the dealer prep prior to picking up the car, I made a special request to have it debadged for me and they did an awesome job at it. Our sales guy told me that others ask for the same thing.

The blacked out supercharge badge looks awesome, perhaps ask them to cover the cost of debadging the v6t badge, detailing the car or that area and applying the new badge?

First of all, congrats on the car!!! It's a beauty, isn't it?

Did you have the order form filled with everything you wanted when you placed the order? If so, and the supercharged badges is on the form, then you can have them change the badges without charge. IIRC, from 2011 on, the supercharged badges are an option. I still have the V6T badges on my car. Doesn't really bother at all.
