NSX owners Insurance question.

question for the NSX owners here on the board.

what do you pay monthly/annually for full coverage on the NSX.

i'll be looking to pick up an early-mid 90's model within a year or so and wanted to get an idea of what people are paying for them.

the car will most likely be bought cash so i will only have an insurance note....
i know it varies from state to state and age..

just feeling it out...
im pretty set on owning one, im just waiting on my other half to graduate and have an income before doing any serious seaching...

any advice/help is appreciated.

I probably would wait till you turn 25 to persue this for insurance savings. And unfortunately it would probably be more beneficial to just call a couple companies and get some quotes.

Just call your insurance company. they will give you a better idea than acurazine (variables).

there is just too many variables to get an idea for you personally.

No one can answer this for you. Obviously rates depend on age/history/car/etc. etc. Call your insurance and ask.

No biggy. I was actually considering an NSX + a CPO base civic together instead of the F originally. However my unfortunate love of speed and an average of 1 ticket every 1.5 years has my insurance cost for 3 cars at a rediculous price. So I chose to go with the fun and practical rolled in to one for the time being till I am over 25 and hopefully going to try to start slowing down and go maybe 2 years without a ticket is my current goal to start with. Will revisit the NSX idea around 28-30 again.

pretty squeaky clean... one small wreck when i was 16 and a speeding ticket that same year.... its been nearly 7 years since i've gotten anything on my record...

the price of the NSX quote is only $30 more a month than my Lude.
which is certainly doable...

now, i just have to have some patience and start looking for one in about 9 months...

NSX was cheaper to insure than the S2k was for me. Go figure.

i was terrified that my insurance would double..

if i didnt like the older body so much, i'd shoot for a newer model...

That's actually not bad at all. Is that liabilty or full coverage? I pay about $90 a month full coverage on my 05 TL. But, it has went up $10 from a ticket I recently got. And is gonna go up a little more because I have had another since

haha....yea right Louisiana with the highest insurance rate. An NSX for someone in New Jersey in their mid/early 20s is uninsurable.

I have mine insured as a collector car. Dirt cheap compared to the a** rape it would have been to insure normally in NJ.

thats not a joke...

jersey has a higher average rate... ($1,180) compared to Louisiana's ($960)

and you guys make tons more money.. therefor cost of living takes the cake here...

when you compare income - Insurance rates.. we rape jersey....
our average income is what jersey's was over 10 years ago.

to put it in perspective... my co-worker is from arkansas... he uses the same company for his insurance... but he's insured through a location in arkansas... he pays $50 a month for full coverage on a 2005 vehicle... i pay $118 on a 98'..

My '91 Prelude was more to insure than the RL or my TL.

I'm going to assume there are far more incidents of theft, vandalism and hooliganism with S2K drivers than NSX drivers. It's all statistics.

Now that I dropped it down to LIability only, I pay $90/mo

The damn car has 155,000 Miles.

I have ZERO speeding tickets and just one accident (Which everyone knows about )

haha.....it is f-in ridiculous in NJ/NYC. I used to have my TL and C6 on the same policy. I was paying $1600 for the TL and $2200/yr on the Vette as a secondary/low mile. I was 29 with an excellent driving record. It is crazy. I have a good friend that put his 03 TL-S also on just liability because of these crazy rates.

Im looking forward to insure the C6 and NSX in Texas. I paid the rest of the year in NJ back in July (another way these guys try to screw you). I know it should be a *little* better once I renew.

$140 a mo/ for an NSX or $840 for 6 mos. is rather inexpensive.

Also for those who want to participate in the highest Insurance E-peen. I have you all beat. I have a perfect driving record and I pay $8000 a year for four cars. I'm actually lucky I switched to progressive last year because that yielded me savings of $1000+ a year.

That's cheap. Try paying $1700 for a Volkswagen Jetta or $1850 for a Civic Si.

Tell me about it. I went to progressive to quote my 3.0CL before I got it, and for a new 17 year old driver, they wanted 14k+ a year! Then I went onto my parents' and im down to <$1500 a year

I tried to get an insurance quote from State Farm. It was damn near impossible. I sent an e-mail to a local agent since you have to go through agents as opposed to an online site. They never got back to me, .

Although a funny story about auto insurance; A few years ago I was in my dorm watching T.V., the dorm was located in a very poverty stricken area. On the cable T.V. aired a commercial for auto insurance.

The way they marketed was just hilarious: "Stay Legal For Less" ;
