Nissan Cube!

Its been a while since I was here, I went thru a lot of cars when I had a decent job. Now that I got the sporty car out of my system I just wanted something easy to get in and out of, roomy, and nothing else fits that bill within budget like a Nissan Cube. I think the Cube will be the last of its kind sold in America. There are zero boxes sold now, sad I think box sized cars are the most comfortable with headroom and a spacious feel.

I just got this last month.

I always thought the rear door looked like a refrigerator door. But I mean that in a good way. It is very quirky.

Do they come in manuals? Did you get an MT? I think it would be fun to drive daily.

No I got the automatic, I drive it like a Sunday driver everyday. Nice and easy.
As for fun to drive I would say not, after a long day as a mailman ( hate all day walk routes) I need something comfortable for the commute.

My Prius is fun to drive. It has pretty squishy handling but it does stick to the road pretty well (I changed the tires). The center of gravity is also low because of the central battery pack. It is small and maneuverable. You can also accelerate flat out for 10-12 seconds and not be in trouble.

It is the little joys that keep life interesting.

I've never been in a Cube though.

I'm on a rural route, but parts of me wants to switch over to a city/walking route. I don't care for the LLV much.

Congrats on the Cube

The Cube resembles an ultra-modern LLV in a way....

Every time I see a Cube, my first thought is "kawaii!" because it's such a cute little car. One of the executives at one of my hospitals drives one and absolutely loves it. Very practical, light, and easy to drive.

Congrats on the pickup!

MMMM, think twice about the city / Walking route. Truth be told, I've only done 2 full walking routes never finished it. Either too tired from it or lost motivation and got help or gave the mail back. People who do all day walk routes are seriously in shape. They don't pay those people anywhere near what they are worth.

How far were you walking?

I'm not in the best of shape, but I used to walk 8-10 miles a day at my old job based on my pedometer and I felt decent.

I'm still fairly new. I'd like to get faster at casing and out of the office.

Not sure of the distance but both were around 21-22 swings. By swing 14-15 I was ready to call it the day and say %$#@ it. Even the mgr said he does not know how people do it in the rain, heat, humidity you name it. I call it bloody murder. I cuss all the time doing it, seeing all the steps and people having no mercy on the mailman putting the box all the way up. I think these people deserve 28-30 bucks an hour for the misery and regardless of seniority.

The general public thinks the walking mailman is having a grand old time, jeez wait till they try it for one day, I would say 80-90 percent of them would hate it.
My route is a piece of cake only about 45mins walking the rest in a LLV!

Best thing is to call a PO and see if you can just try it for a couple of days.

The Cube is not my cup of tea, but congrats on the pickup! As long as you're happy, that's all that matters!

I just changed the oil to Pennzoil Platiumn and it really changed how the engine feels and sounds. Much better, its not in my head. The motor is more quiet and revs better, best 25 dollar investment in my car.

I have a 6mt cube. It's fun to drive in its own right. It has been ultra reliable too.

Interior space is why I got the car. The A pillar is as far away from you as can be. I like that, now when I get into other cars they all seem so closed in on me because the pillar is so close especially in the newest cars. All the aerodynamic windshields are not good if you want lots and lots of room upfront.

The handling is the bad part of this car, if you want a sporty feel this is not the car for you.
