There are many members in different locations. Whether he watched the video or not, jb's intent was that you requested to have a thread where you can display your work and you were accommodated, and a separate thread is not required or allowed for any work you consider to be worthy or specialized outside the original thread. So what about my thread in the 4g TL section, where I am helping to teach plastic welding on a 4g bumper cover? Is that okay? I don't want to break any of the rules here, but it is my work and this is the "master" thread. I am sort of confused because that thread is okay, but this es350 isn't?

If it is 4G related to a specific factory component, then is it fine to keep it there. If it is of a generic component not related to a specific model Acura or from a different manufacturer, then continue to post it in this thread. Anything done as an accessory for any Acura model or other manufacturer, continue to post in this thread as well.

I'd drop it, Brian. I can see why you're feeling that way though but I'm sure the intentions are all good.

Anyway, keep on hitting us on this thread...we keep coming back for more!

Exactly. Believe it or not it's actually better to have one thread in Car Talk. Easy to find, and people know to keep coming back to this one spot for updates. Also, once someone is in this thread, they can search within the thread itself to find a specific car or project (example, once they click on this topic they can search within the thread for ES350 if that is what they're looking for).

Posting something in 4G is fine if it's 4G related... but in Car Talk, please keep it in this one thread. Instead of having a thread for an ES350, one for an Accord, one for a Corolla, etc... use this thread as your master Car Talk Thread.

Do you now?
LOL...
PS...guess what I got for Vday...Makita rotary...just like yours. Need some pointers on cleaning it etc. Great though, I love it. Tried it on my boss' car yesterday...he has a white corolla that was chalky...amazing how fast that things works. Takes a bit to get used to the movement, very different from the dual action PC....One is macro, the other is micro.

it is a great tool to have, for normal maintenance, i dont think it is really needed as sometimes it does more harm then good, but it is awesome for buffing wetsanded finishes.

This thread is fantastic.

I screwed up my front bumper a little bit last Saturday by doing a 3 point turn on a steep driveway. As I let off the clutch, I was clearly too close to this low brick wall along the driveway and rolled into it

After reading through this thread, I decided I'm going to tackle the repair myself.

Thanks Brian! This has been a huge help on what supplies and what procedures I should take to make it look like new.

When his schedule opens up one of these days, I'll probably pay him to paint my bumpers...or just replace them with some newer type s bumpers with aspec.

you're the only person I've seen work that I'd entrust to paint it...and that's no lie. You SAW what my "friend" did to my grill.

Plus, you're more anal than me...that's what I used to tell my buddy, how can your painter be LESS anal than the customer.

Sort of a challenge here with this one, but it came out sick! Body shop wanted $900+ for new bumper cover because of the texture that "couldnt" be fixed and included in that price was $80 for the rubber step up that needed to be replaced. I was able to remove it and re-use it.

Enjoy.

Brian, I really need to get you to bring my trunk lid, front/rear bumper with aspec and front grill, back from the dead. I wish I had a second car. Every chance I get I direct people at what a badass you are...

I'd pick you working out of your parents garage ANY day over some "professional" shop touching my car.

Thanks J! I really try to do the best in the environment that I am working in. Being just me, I have more time to make jobs more perfect instead of getting them out the door.

yup, 61k! I bought 4oz to do the job, it was something like $25 bucks. I had very little left that I threw out because it was mixed with blending agent, which I use on my last coat of base. Nice color!
