New car!
So, not sure if you guys remember but I posted a while back about the possibility of getting out of my AM V8V and into either an R8 or F430...I sold the Aston a few weeks back and well the new ride is here.....
Its a 2011 Prius 5 - has all the bells and whistles - Nav, leather, LED headlights..it even parks itself! I have to say I think this is a great everyday car. I like taking my time getting places with it lol...I dont feel the need to speed in this car. And 50MPG - need I say more...another shot of the rear
And a pic of the AM right before I sold it..I do miss it...just a little :-)

I give it a short time...He'll dump it for sure
I liked mine at first, too...and I grew to hate it for a multitude of reason. Yeah its a solid little commuter...but it'll wear on you. I was more than happy to get out of it a year early.
All my performance enthusiast friends are jumping into volts as DD...the leases are DIRT cheap and they are supposed to be a nicer drive.
Of course...there is always the penultimate "green" car...tesla S...I see 5-6 a day now...and I NEVER get bored look at them. They are just a sexy design.

haha cant believe everyone didn't see the reflection in the first pic...first off Id like to give a big thanks to Ed (Shoofin) - he was a huge help in arranging the sale of the AM and purchase of the R8...
Sarlacc - Im not sure if I will grow tired of the Prius, I traded my 2008 GC Laredo in on this...speed wise they are pretty similar, and this is much more comfortable. Plus the cargo space is adequate for what I need, don't think the Volt will be...I hope I keep it for the next 5 years, although I think 3 is more realistic
The R8 is a 2010 with about 5000 miles when I picked it up in mid July - has close to 6000 already. It had close to a 180k sticker when new...has every option including a hardwired Passport Radar with front and rear jammers and the rear view mirror has been replaced. There is carbon fiber everywhere...the interior, engine bay, door sills, mirrors and side blade...I love driving this car...its a completely different experience than the V8V. The V8V was more stately and elegant; this is like a purpose built rocket that is as comfortable as an A6...I have driven F430s and Gallardos - in those cars its almost tiresome to drive them. I also think its easier to drive than the V8V. This car is very easy to drive fast. And its blisteringly fast...The stock exhaust note leaves much to be desired, but hopefully that will be sorted soon. I had a Tubi on the AM and it sounded amazing...looking to get a Tubi or Capristo on the R8. Driving the AM was more of an event; the interior definitely felt a little more special. Sometimes you forget what type of car you are in when driving the R8 as the interior isn't anything extra special - but you are reminded by all the attention the car gets (which frankly I think I would have enjoyed a few years ago when I was a little younger, but it gets a bit irritating...the AM used to get a different kind of appreciation than the R8 does)
Since I took possession I have changed the wheels and added a full Xpel Ultimate clear bra. The work was done by Greg of Signature Detailing and Lee Berbs - Will post a few pics of that installation in a bit, but now that it is finished you cannot see the bra even one bit. The edges were wrapped where they could be - when standing next to the car you cannot notice it has a bra on it. I guess the white hides it very well - this installation is leaps and bounded ahead of the bra that was and still is on my V8V...on to the pics..
At the dealership...
Getting detailed prior to the clear bra application..
Random photo..
The new wheels (they are still OEM)..
In any case, glad to see some of the members from way back in the day are still on the boards even though they've moved out of Acuras...was looking at my join date and I cant believe its been over 10 years from when I joined this forum...I think I was 17 at the time LOL....Perhaps I will swing by a meet with the Prius

The Prius does have GOBS have storage, its very well designed. I didn't hate the car...though it got frustrating driving that...knowing I have something way more powerful in the garage...but I go through that with the Jeep, too.
It was more of the Prius stigma that wore me down on the car, than the actual car. Got tired of people dinging the doors or cutting me off just because I drove a Prius.
But really, I hope you enjoy it and gets lots of use out of it

Congrats on both cars!!!
I love this photo. I looks like an automotive porn shoot. You have the hot damsel in the foreground with, well, you know what on her, and in the background is the creepy old dirty Lazy Boy where you can watch all the hawt action go down. Very sleazy sir!

Thanks everyone...also wanted to add that I had a deposit on a silver V10 with approx 11k miles and a less options that was ever so slightly cheaper. But this white one popped up a few days before my flight to pick up the silver car and the dealer accepted my lowball offer lmao- the car was sold only 2 days after they listed it. I didnt like white at first in this car and LOVED the silver...but after seeing the white in person, I am so glad that I ended up with the white car
Also as to why I chose the R8 over the F430....I liked that the R8 was much more modern on the interior. I think the F430 will start looking a little dated soon - but the biggest issue I had was while I was looking I saw a few guys post $20K service/maint. receipts.....that was a little hard for me to stomach lol...hopefully in a few years the 458 prices come down a little :-)....that is my favorite car in a long time.......

I love hearing your first hand impressions of driving the R8 vs the F430. It's pretty much on par with everything I've read about the two. If I were in your financial shoes (and god I wish I was!) I'd be all about the R8, too. For what you give up in performance, which is not very much at all, you get in comfort and ease of maintenance. That's a win-win in my books.

Interesting idea NSXNEXT had.....an OG Acurazine, I mean, Acura-TL.com meet.
