My rebound, RIP CL

I had my Acura CL-S for 7 years, put 100,000 miles on her only to have a hail storm take her out, insurance deemed it a total loss, and towed her away last Friday. I had a purchased a bike just before the storm also, sold both to buy my 2006 Mini Cooper S

This drives like a go-kart and I'm sure you've heard it a million times but it really does. Its incredibly fun. It has some modifications like a 15% reduction pulley, short throw, Magnaflow bolt on and full cat-back system, ALTA headers, and others. It has the rare chrono-pack which puts the speedometer in front of you which I really like. I'm really enjoying it. I went from a boat to a go-kart, 5 speed slushbox to a 6 speed manual, its a huge difference. I now constantly drive with a stupid grin on my face.

Thank you for the kind words, it was a sad day when they took her.

I don't doubt it, the Mini's performance is so awesome!

Love Minis. Having something that handles exceptionally well makes up for everything and most importantly makes the drive fun...always. In a month you will have forgotten the cl.

Thanks guys! My first mod is tires, I need to get rid of these run flats ASAP. I'm considering getting a set of winter wheels/tires so I can get dedicated summer tires.

Then Saturday I'm going to do a full detail and oil change.

1st gen S FTW!!

I know you'll have a blast driving it. Did it come with any kind of dealer warranty?

Didn't know about the Chrono pack... much better gauge layout!

To date, the Cooper S JCW was one of the funnest cars I've driven. Somehow got 30+ mpg too.

Most definitely, already forgetting. I just ordered a set of BF Goodrich Super Sport A/S tires which should help it even more!

No, it was a trade in at the local Ford dealer, just so happened to be exactly what I was looking for and I got a great price.

The chrono pack is rare, it improves the entire interior look, I was lucky this one had it.

I'm not seeing the 30+mpg but I don't doubt it if I were to drive it efficiently. I don't drive it efficiently.

Your new car looks amazing... and it came with some great add-ons... Good luck with it. As of right now I get 32-33 mpg around town in my Mini. I really do feel like I am driving in a go-kart. Here is mine:

Sorry to hear about the CL but congrats on the Mini! I've never driven one but after hearing so many great things about their handling I'd assume it's similar to my old '88 CRX Si.

Thank you, fellow Mini owner!

Thanks! Funny, my brother has a stock '91 CRX Si, and they are very comparable side by side. Though driving the Si it has more body roll, and is more prone to understeer vs my Mini.
