My new (1997) Jeep is a POS haha

Well i got it 4 months ago. With no experience with dealing with fixing cars or anything. And the 2nd day my radiator blew. The following week my gearbox started leaking. Let me give you a parts list. All of which i replaced myself. So atleast i got some experience under my belt now?

-Radiator -$70 (got it repaired -- took it out and stuff myself)
-Durango Gearbox $155 after my discount (same with the rest below)
-Throttle Position Sensor $38
-Fan Clutch $30
-Crankshaft Pos. (piece of shit) sensor $40
-Both Pinion Seals $12/pc
-Windshield $170 (had it installed)

Now I need a
Power Steering Pressure Sensor ($35)
one of my bearing are going
all 4 shocks need replaced
The Clutch grinds into reverse and pops out of second.

But it is a blast to drive haha

And for all of that stuff i really only took it mudding probly half a dozen times its not like i beat the hell out of it.

When i bought it

Heres some pics of what it looks like now..
Before bedliner and color

After bedliner and color

oh and heres my sexy shift knob
Hurst Baby

Thanks for reading all this BS if you even did

Random pics

kind makes me want everything black again now that i look at it

oh and my ooga horns in the heep now (my neighbors love me)

still a nice jeep, but what did you expect? something reliable? not on a jeep.

But for what abuse they get, you should expect it.

mud is good for everything but when its crammed in places it should never be. And yea but i dont really abuse mine alll that much, I abused my Xterra x10 for wayy longer and nothing broke but the gearbox which im still not certain was my fault.

but yea i still love it. Its actually really reliable

PS i am trying to sell it. any takers?

318 is much easier.

360 is a disaster, though.

Much cheaper and much easier just to grab the entire drivetrain out of a wrecked Dakota or JGC.

Knew a guy who did the 5.9L (360) swap out of a JGC and had major tranny problems. Of course, his was an auto. But that thing would smoke mud tires. Haven't heard of him in almost ten years, though. It was a major money pit.

The TJ jeeps are actually very reliable. Not sure where you can lump it in with the rest of them. The I4 and I6 are damn near bulletproof.

Of course, it is a Renault design...
