My Hot New Ride

So I came to Europe and got a nice American car....Its a 2002 Ford Focus with about 80000 miles on it. It has auto and the steering wheel is on the right....Pics to follow, but it looks like this, but black....It cost 4,499 pounds (about 9,000 bucks)....Insurance is crazy, I am paying about 1000 pounds per year (about $2000).....

You should've gotten the Focus SVT hatchback version.

I do not believe Ford UK ever offered the SVT Focus. What they had was a MUCH better than the SVT:

Ford Focus RS

Sweet!! Funny how you'd never consider one in the US, but when you move overseas they're a hot item!

Dunno, but I was told that the parts are fairly cheap here (compared to other foreign cars).

My Internet situation is very, very sad...I could create a two page rant on how Sky TV / Broadband is the worst company in the world and that how I am probably the smartest person in all of London, if not all of the UK......

So, I had to wing this on my own...Plus, what do you yankees know about UK cars anyway.....

It's not really that hard. I grew up in Trinidad. The roads ae on the other side and I drove both left and right hand drive cars. You get use to it pretty fast.

The trick I was told was that the driver should always be close to the middle of the road....This only works if you are on the right side.

Oh...And avoid busses.

Whiskers why did you can lease a car or get the wife's company to lease a company car. As I'm sure you see, its very common to have a higher management and up to get a company car.

Both of my parents at one time or another had a Renault or a Citrogen, Renault make good cars kinda like toyota.

Wife's company wasn't giving us a car because we are very commutable to her office by train. The car is just for the weekends and short shopping trips. They gave us $9,000 to purchase if we wanted, that covered the cost of the Focus. The leasing here is pretty nuts, along with everything else.

Few reasons.
-First, we really don't need one. We are walkable to buses and trains.
-Her company is not really paying for one, so we pay for it.
-I wanted something small and easy to get around
-I wanted something where I don't care about dents and dings on it.
-I didn't care about high milage because I would be shocked if I put more then 2000 miles a year on it. It will be used to get my son to school (about a mile), go grocery shopping (about a mile) and occasionally do some weekend trips out of the city.
-The Focus is an awesome car... (although it does look pretty nifty in Black with black leather).
