OK, here's another for you if you don't mind (if you do tell me to f-off). Black grille or no?

Current:

gloss black:

I should mention these wheels are in my garage and going on in the spring:

http://dpe-wheels.com/images/3animation.gif

I cant decide if gloss black grille will make it too dark or match nicely.
Yeah, definately do something with the front. Get rid of the chrome and either black it out or paint it body color like CS suggested. The black grille completes the mean-look of the front.
What else...? Oh yeah, debadge, and BTW, those wheels would look crazy HOT on that car.
Very nice car.

Its been awhile since I took the front bumper off my TSX but when I did, the bracket holding the plate was not screwed into any plastic on the bumper.

Have a look at Dan's TSX when you get a chance.

I bought it; I plan on keeping it awhile. That and I didn't do a thing to my last car so I have to admit I have the bug. Right now all I'm doing is tint, clear bra, debadge, grille, pedals, springs, sidemarker delete... In the spring I'll add wheels, but I think that will probably be it in terms of aesthetic stuff. Maybe a front lip down the road or something.

The word is it was pretty much all made up. The Audiworld posting was debunked by a couple other members of that club, and the owner. The real story was, apparently, that one (not all) cars had the oil gauge up to 300F, but that car *did not* shut down, they turned it off because they were freaked out. The manual says normal operating temp is anything up to 330F, they shut it off at 300F. I've seen no reports at e90post, bimmerfest, bimmerforum, etc about any more over-heats. I did 5 laps (over an hour straight) on the Ring and my temp gauge sat at 120C (goes from 70-170C), which is where it sits all the time. So ya, I don't think it's an issue. The only two real issues right now are those two guys whose engines went under 500km (one in Saskatchewan and one in New Jersey I think?), both got new cars. Those were both right off the bat though (like september), haven't heard anything like that since then.

The re-flash was to fix the rough cold idle, the car would, well, idle rough when cold.

Otherwise smooth sailing for most owners afaik.

I'm still torn on the grille. Maybe I will wait till my summer wheels are on to decide.

Thanks! I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them, I can't wait to get them on.

I guess that would be the smartest thing to do.

No prob. Just give an update when you get the new wheels on in the spring. Definately would like to see them on the car. As well as when you decide on what you're gonna do with the grille.

Beautiful car!! Awesome lines, georgeous interior (conservative yet very functional...typical german car).......IMHO Go black grill and dont debadge.

I agree lets see some engine pics....Are there many in stock in TO...Here in Calgary there are apparently no deals and are hard to find.

The turbos are hard to see actually, and even harder to pic up with a camera. The only one I have right now is this:

Next time I have it outside I will see if I can catch a turbo in it's natural habitat.

damn such an amazing car, imo it looks even better in person, although when i went to the bmw dealership in riverside all they had on displays were 328is

for me the color choice would probably be montego blue with black interior and aluminum trim, or alpine white with coral red interior and aluminum trim, and lastly crimson red with black interior and aluminum trim

although i would prefer the trim to be like my friends old 330ci it had like a carbon fiber look to it

Damn thats hot but i would wait a bit to see if there are any bugs in the software.

As much as i like to think his program is perfect, he did come out with it pretty quick.

I've driven it very hard, and it does get real hot under those driving conditions in stock form. Modding it to run a 12.44 without doing some substancial cooling mods, is asking for it!

It's weird the car you drove got hot when driven hard. I only mention it because when I took it around the ring it was 65 minutes or pretty much non stop brake, WOT, brake, WOT - I was hot lapping the ring, at 10 minutes a lap and the oil temp never got about 120C (it normally sits around 100-110ish). But ya, it is a hot running car in general.

Anyway ya, I am going to wait and see on that software too. Luckily just an exhaust will get you 30hp/30tq, so I'll probably do an exhaust in spring then go from there.

I guess the good thing about the xede is it's mostly fuel tuning - the boost only goes from 9 to 11 at peak.

Great Car!

Wow! My cousin just stopped by with his new 2007 335i Sedan, white with brownish interior. I took it for a test drive and I am amazed at how much power that beast has! There's so much low end torque! I didn't take it past 4k RPM's cause it only had 120 miles on it so I didn't really get to see how good the high end power was but I'm sure it's superb. It was also pretty smooth considering it had 18's. I so badly want to get one now. :-)

ED is available for Canadians, the problem is even though you get the ED pricing, you still have to pay an excise fee and shipping, so the price of the car ends up being more than just buying it here, plus you have to pay for your trip to Europe.

In contrast, if you're in the U.S you get ED price, straight up, BMW ships the car, you get a deal on tickets through Lufthansa, two weeks free insurance, etc.

So in the US it's a no brainer, in Canada it doesn't make financial sense.

Nice. You can't even see that clear bra. The side markers would be my first mod too. That stock reflector looked like an afterthought.

That's alot nicer then I thought it would look... sometimes a red interior doesn't look right on some cars

Jackie, what's the deal with getting the headliner replaced ?? Is the stock one some weird color or something ??

No, it's beige. In Europe anthracite is an option but not in North America. I've just never been a big fan of beige headliners especially in black cars. Not a huge deal, but I have a friend who does custom interior work so it won't be too pricey, so I figured why not. Here's a crappy PS I made up to show the diff.

Normal

Anthracite

Ya I know, not a huge difference. It's more noticable in the car... I don't know, I'm crazy.

It's subtle, but definitely more noticeable in the car where you can see the whole swath of beige headliner.

Cheers guys.

I've got a thing against black and tan dashes in cars with tan interiors....

What does not being single have to do with that choice? there both coupes.

BTW - Can I close this thread, the jealousy is killing me.

Greenie, stop asking questions about what your next car will be and go pick up one of these bad boys.
