There isn't any plastic except the dash (which are always plastic), everything else is aluminum or leather. You have three wood options, I just don't like wood trim. You also have a piano gloss black lacquer option. (seen here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1151678476). And I think 5 or 6 leather color options, including jade and coral red, and saddle brown (saddle is very popular). http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/4...16smallqk7.jpg
So ya, the interior isn't Audi-quality, but it is decent. The materials themselves are very good, I am extremely picky about that.
It's real aluminum though. The 328 comes with "titanium" which is fake, but the 335i is real 1/4 inch thick brushed aluminum.
Faster is sort of hard to say; you would need to race them on the same track, same driver etc... In general I would say the 335i is "as fast" stock, it's within a tenth (over or under) in the 60 and same for the 1/4, it traps a bit higher. With any tuning at all obliviously it will have more gains. Guys are getting +95lb/ft of torque at the wheels with a moderately tuned xede, nothing else. Of course that means very little tbh, since they are totally 100% different cars. They drive different, feel different, the engines react differently, transmissions are totally different, and they serve different markets.
Wife can't drive a stick, and we're a one car family.
So here is the thing, I am not going to defend my choice by saying "the auto is really great", I know nothing can replace a manual. I've driven manuals my whole life. That said, this auto *is* extremely fast. I thought I would be un-happy with it, but you need to drive it to see what I mean. It will hold a gear, rev match, shifts as quickly as a DSG gearbox (for real), and even faster downshifts. No, it doesn't have the user input of a manual, but it's a really great gearbox.
Merry Christmas guys.

So what do you guys think, debadge or no?
I'm thinking yes.
I just installed the alum pedals (these: http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-M-Tech-Alumi...QQcmdZViewItem)
Man, what a pain in the ass.

Although an enthusiast would know it by the dual exhausts.

The dual tips let folks know it... hrm, I'm torn. I think I will do it.
OK, here's another for you if you don't mind (if you do tell me to f-off). Black grille or no?
Current:
gloss black:
I should mention these wheels are in my garage and going on in the spring:

I cant decide if gloss black grille will make it too dark or match nicely.

Beuatiful car, congrats. +1 vote for not de-badging.
BTW - why doesn't BMW offer a front plate bracket like every other maker out there that avoids having to drill holes into the bumper? Or do they?

I saw one in person at a gas station tonight. This car is beautifully sculpted, especially in the hood and around the front.
