gotta love the commentators on these vids... nice times on the E55... nice in-car too, nothing like seeing the MB star on the hood going down the strip...

i would assume the AMG had drag radials, because of the different rims in the rear, didn't look like the M5 did, could have been a reason for the tire slippage

Yeah proper tires were my first guess.
Plus, I''d like to see a driver who know how to use the SMG tranny to its fullest. and the 500hp button.

Yeah thats what I was thinking the first time i saw it, Need to get better tires and a new driver. He never even warmed the tires up like the E55 unless they just did not show it. But the guy in the E55 was driving the shit out of it props too him man.

Because I could be wrong....because im unsure of weight differences etc.
But I would think the M5 with the right tires and driver...would smoke the E55.

'Big Daddy Diggler'
Both cars with drag radials and equal drivers would have the M5 come put on top. I think that the benz's torque curve help it get down that track a little better, but the M should have no problem if it hooks or runs from a roll.

Don't Mess With Texas
with the right driver the bmw should win. i have seen other vids of the m5 vs e55 and this is the first time i have seen one lose...they are always down in the beg then at the end they reel in the e55

I've seen both cases... keep in mind though, the E55 is one FAST bitch.

The e55 just makes so much damn torque and the torque curve is rediculously flat. That's why, out of the hole, the e55 will almost always take out the M.
