M2: El Ban's guide to owning a BMW and not becoming a douche!
#521
Hope everyone is staying safe! Moved all the office operations remotely and been trying to isolate as much as possible in case my parent need anything so I can help them without exposing them! I must be getting very old cause I am enjoying this isolation. Please keep safe everyone!
Haven't update in a while so here goes some updates.
M2C got a spare set of wheels off an M2 to wrap in some RE71R for track days.. havent been able to use yet, first event got postponed, looking forward to pushing it around in there, sticky plus one size up.
Did a March M2/M2C meet, we had eight together, had a blast:
Took the 2002 on a 21 car meet, never had seen so many 2002 together:
Finally gave the E30 some love, lowered on H&R springs and put the BBS on it.

I WFH a full year before we opened the office here in FL and it gets boring after a while. I need the human interaction and the whiteboard discussions face 2 face.. Im old school. Im confident this shit will go by and we will all bounce back.
Talking about old school.. loaded a vid testing a new Gimbal.

Literally the perfect E30. Love it.
5-6 years ago, I intended on buying a fully restored '88 325is with 100k miles. No cracks in the dash, working mileage cluster, no warning lights .. seats / interior fully reupholstered ..
Looked exactly like this:
Driving experience was unreal and the car appeared to have come out of a time capsule.
They were asking $8500 for it ... which I decided against and got my Acura CLS-6 since it was almost 3k cheaper and I wasn't quite open to dailying 20+ year old car at that time.
I bet that car would have been worth 15k by now

Its sitting a 126K miles, documented 2 owner car with all maintenance records and booklets stamped at the dealer. I have the original window sticker from the day it was purchased and putting together a nice binder with all of it. Car had timing belt done back in the 90s. The changes I made are the extent of changes I am doing, will not mod it. It is scheduled to go through a full maintenance refresh including timing belt and all those goodies.
I have been watching the market and the last 2 years its jumped, so the car you looked at easily can be more if the mileage was kept low. Hagerty valued mine based on condition and mileage at a bit over 18K so its currently insured for that. I ust hope I don't get attached to it and not want to sell later on!

Given how you bailed on the beloved del sol and crsexes...
I would say you are immune to emotional attachment.
You buy, you restore, you make cool, you enjoy and you sell.
Like me but not cheap.

Hahahaha the masks hold ups lol..
Thanks guys, it was a pandemic wheel blowout price but still pricey AF.. Wanted them for the Blue M2 but never had the cojones to hash out the $.. car feels quicker with them. All four stocks were about 101lb, these are 68lbs total.
BUT.. if we gonna die from this Pandemic I'm going out with some fucking nice wheels.. BOOM
This corn teen needs to be over!
