Loud, low rumbling noise when stepping on gas

2006 CSX

Yesterday my CSX suddenly started making a loud, low rumbling noise every time I step on the gas, and the car vibrates. I thought I heard a loud clanking noise just before it started happening but wasn't 100% sure and didn't see anything fall from the car/underbody. Sounds like those Honda Civics that have custom muffler jobs to make their cars noisier. Feel like the acceleration is a bit slower and the car a bit hotter but not certain.

Any ideas?

I guessed that something in the exhaust system must have come undone. Taking it to the auto shop tomorrow but wanted to have some ideas from folks on this forum in case they try to upsell me something that I don't need.

I'd move your post to a better-suited thread for a solution if I could find a CSX forum but we don't have one. Honda Civic thread perhaps?

Pretty much an 8G Civic, but only sold with the K20

To the OP, maybe broken motor mount? Loose lug nuts or maybe a loose/broken control arm?

I hear that sound every time I drive my car. Gets even louder when I toggle the exhaust valves. I think it's normal though...

Just a tiny difference in the source between the CSX & the Voodoo....

Turns out an exhaust pipe had rusted out and became disconnected. Auto shop welded on a new pipe for $300. Thanks everyone for the ideas!
