Droning noise while driving

I recently (when winter started) started to notice while my car is moving there's a loud noise coming from the front of the car. I can't explain it but it sounds like droning, like i'm in an airplane or something. No CEL lights. The car still drives smooth, and is quiet when not in motion. It's just when you start moving past 20mph you start to hear it.

Sounds like it's coming from the front, maybe driver's side. Could it be coming from my icebox? I never noticed it until recently all my passengers kept asking me "what is that noise?" The only thing I changed about the car before I noticed this was the tires. My tread was out so I got all seasons once it started snowing.

does it go away when you let off of the gas pedal? Mine makes a noise because I have the intake resonator removed. It sounds kind of like a howl. If it goes away when you let of the gas and coast, then its probably just your intake.

No it's still goes on even if you let off the gas. Freeway is where it gets the loudest and people start complaining. It stops as you go down to low speeds and the rpm drops to below 3k.

Wheel bearing huh....I see...

It's so loud on the freeway. I wonder how long I can keep driving for until I can find time to fix it hopefully by the end of the week.

You should be ok for a little while. As long as the wheel isnt wobbeling and your not getting any vibrations, you should be ok.

seems like its the time of the year for wheel bearings on our TLs,

kris, easiest way to check front bearings are how? when i cruise slowly on streets or parking lots, i hear a faint squeek.

should i put it on a hoist and then drive it?
