Looking at Small SUVs

Helping out my bro...

Hes in need of a Japanese/Korean SUV for <$400 mo. lease. zero down. No Nav, just leather and sunroof. What cars could you think of?

RDX - Could this be had for the price range?
CRV - Ugly
Rav4 - He hates the rear tire
Tuscon - Had this before, and loved it.
Nissan Rogue - No idea what this is like

(Anything that offers 3rd row seating is too big - this is for NYC parking. basically a weekend getaway car for his lab & bike)

Any others?

You can get a nicely used RDX for under $400 a month.

Out of all those, I'd go with the CRV first, and then the RDX.

thanks, guys. again, this is a lease.

last time he went shopping, i directed him towards the Sante Fe, but it was too large. he ended up with a fully loaded tuscon limited v6. car was a f'in tank for the price.

looking for something similar, unless they are coming out with a new tuscon in the next couple months.

Is he open to a hatch? I would think it would be easier to park and maneuver in NYC. I'm thinking Mazda3 5 door or Toyota Matrix?

Another small Japanese/Korean SUV is the Mazda Tribute. Maybe wait for the Honda Accord Crosstour coming out next year?

Rather have a CR-V or RAV.

The CR-V is being revamped for '10. So expect some minor styling tweaks and possibly more power from the 2.4.

My vote goes to the V6 Rav.

One of my coworkers has the Rogue. Not my cup of tea. It's tiny (think raised up Sentra), and the interior is pretty cheap looking and feeling, from what I remember. I was only in it once, briefly, last year. I remember the back seat not being all that comfortable and the feeling of the cloth was weird.

How about a wagon, yes/no?? Nothing comes to mind right now but it could be cheaper, offers awesome luggage space and a little better on fuel.
