found out lexus is having something similar to mazda's "rev it up" event. i think they have a showcase of lexus cars along with competitors. BMW's, Mercs, Audi, and yes Acura.
you basically test drive the cars full blast on the track.

so who's going to this? if you are going, represent!!! show em wat Acuras are made for

 

I've tested my friends IS200 which is 3000 GBP more expensive head to head against my Euro Accord, and although the IS200 is a very nice car....the Accord wins hands down on power.

A Toyota/Lexus splurge to keep the faithful in the flock. Considering the aging fleet design (IS and GS are getting redesigned within a year) they might have a hard time doing that. Next year on the other hand....

i understand that Lexus wants to showoff their cars but to bring out competitors. especially around a track. makes the competitors look good.

i signed up when it first went up 2 weeks ago. its not quite like rev it up, there is no autocrossing or driving schools, its just a glorified test drive I believe.

 

Just signed up, free food, couple test drives, should be a decent event.

 

Except they're going to have all of their competitor's vehicles there. They're also having a meal, along with a golf session with an instructor. I got an invitation in my email from Lexus. Sounds like a good event. Now if Acura would get on the ball and start schmoozing their customers...

so how are they picking who gets invited... golf lessons for some 16yr kid? Heck, I'm 22 and have no clubs, but I do want to drive an IS300 or SC430 and their "competitors"

Well, clearly they are confident enough to have competitors there instead of being biased. I went to their Lexus event last year. They had their SUVs against 45 others. It was a great test. We got to drive the SUVs through obstacle courses and around streets. You could stay as long as you wanted. It opened my eyes to some of the competition but clearly, the Lexus were the most refined. the X5 surprised the hell outta me. The Range was great as well. The AMG ML 55 was very fast. The Land Rover was horrible. The Escalade got stuck and had to detour around the tough terrain.
The food was great, salmon, smoothies and other great foods. The tents were huge. Again, it was great to drive ALL the competition as I would not have given most any time.

I set up our local Lexus meet there.
