Exclamation Lexus IS: Possessed Steering Wheel Problem

<embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid173.photobucket.com/albums/w66/aQuarius-26/PossessedSteering.flv">

I'd say that's a little worse than a stuck accelerator pedal. I could always shift to neutral if the throttle stuck, but I would shit bricks if my steering wheel did that on the highway.

Toyota should just take the rest of 2010 off and come back in 2011 once they look over all these issues. There's something systemically wrong with the company to have this many issues in such a short time span.

electrical steering FTL. in my 250, if i let go of the wheel @ a stop, it will rotate 45 degrees to the left - regardless of the angle of a terrain. the lease is up next week...no longer my prob.

the steering is SO numb in the IS too. you could tell that its as far from mechanical as possible.

It just feels like Toyota/Lexus went from being the most reliable brand on the planet to the other end below Range Rover.

Let's hope it's just wonky software.

Shame on Toyota for outsourcing software coding outside of Japan.

That was the exact video I was talking about in my earlier post too... that video you posted is worse though. Kinda cool to have as an anti-theft device, but boy would I hate for shit to go wrong when I'm merely getting ready to drive.

this reminds me of tiger woods, it wasn't a huge story until someone really dug until they found something and then the flood gates opened.

Except i don't thing that the flood gates have opened all the way yet.....

Very sad since i would have chosen a toyota over any ford, not now. hello honda

Sweet baby Jesus asleep in a manger.

Its only a matter of days before this ends up on international media outlets.

I don't startle easily but that is utterly shocking.

just emailed my friend at the New York Times......

although, from the posts ive seen on jalopnik it has to do with interference with after-market HID kits... which still doesn't make it excusable but we shall see how this turns out.
