Lexus LFA
We are all entitled to our opinions. I am not getting defensive and sorry Internet talk is not traditional language that I am accustomed to using. I really think posting the paperwork online is not smart even with my personal information blurred out. Someone out there might be able to skim the info and then I would have a huge identity issue. There is a 0% chance of my doing that. If that lights the fires of the doubters, I can't stop that. If this thread is going to continue down this path, this is not what I want to do.
I will post the passing video of me on a two lane road on August 1st as I have to wait for the new month on Flicker, providing we can stop the questioning stuff. Also I have a video of me getting stuck behind another Lexus in traffic getting a little frustrated that I'm in a super car and am stuck behind slow ass drivers.
The ball is everyone's court now. Again, I don't know anything about the other guy you are referencing. I am going to heed the advice of another member and not get into it anymore if more skeptical conversation continues to surface.

Just saying.
I was only stating an opinion. I am not the only one who thinks that it worth 150k more than a 458 Italia or 4x the price of a GT-R.
The LF-A obviously will not have any previous racing heritage being a new car & all, but the company/engineers behind it have more than enough. The car was technically racing even before it went on sale to the public however, & has been ever since for 4 years now. The car the LF-A is a descendent of already has plenty of racing history.
LFA is a badass car whose aggressive nimbleness around the track is only dwarfed by the sweet sound of it's harmonically tuned engine and exhaust. Pricing it at $400k is a huge fucking win for Toyota. They kicked the door down when entering the field and made a shit load of money doing so. Would I rather spend $400k on an Aventador.. sure, but that's me.
Do I think it's overpriced, yes but only in the sense that you could get more for your money performance wise.. but most owners buy it for the craftsmanship, exclusivity and performance, not to mention that it's immediate resale will probably increase and is guaranteed to be bought at no less than the cost to own by Toyota.
Was the NSX an "overpriced underpowered supercar"? The so-called supercar of 80's introduced in the 90's.. Maybe.. would you still love to own one, fuck yes.
Let's all get back to the bacon, waffles and butter of the matter shall we.

I dont think when you buy at this price you dont really look at the price tag its self and think about the total value you get for your money. Then all the rich folks will have a GTR. Is it fast? Is it special? Yes Is it exclusive? Yes. Is it made of exotic material? Yes. If it churns your insides, buy one if you can afford it.

BTW, are the IP test results a positive match?

Don't be shy, Abcdecanc#1
You lurk on your thread a lot...especially for someone that's new to the forums.

This "should have bought this or that" talk is stupid. If someone came into car talk with a Veyron SS, would you all be stuck on the fact they could have bought 6 LFAs, or would you shut up and enjoy the opportunity to share in a first hand experience with a bad ass and extremely rare car?
Abcdecanc#1, I can understand your apprehension to keep posting here, but PLEASE do come back in Feb. at the very least to update this thread.

Well, that's just people's personal opinion on how much it costs and all the other cars they'd rather own (or multiples they could own with that pricetag). Nothing wrong with that.
007...don't think I don't know you're trying to ease your way into my spot to be his pool boy/live in friend.

What's wrong with that is it derails the thread in absolutely no useful manner. Go create a thread called, "Dream Cars I Would Buy With Other People's Money" if you want to discuss it.
You can have bitch position. As an Acura fanboy, I can't be seen kissing ass for a lowly Toyota. Now, when Leno gets that NSX, I will be the first to knock on his door.

R&D costs over the last 10 years is a drop in the bucket compared to how much money they will make going forward.. Plus residual licensing of their cf weaving process and tools may generate them extra revenue. Their next gen is reportedly going to be 2x the price, if not more.. and will compete with the likes of the new Enzo. IMO, Toyota is off to a great start.
If the intent of all this was to drive this poster from the board, I'm guessing it's succeeded. While I can appreciate the similarities cited between this thread (in terms of the OP's claims), and those which have surfaced in other hoax threads, I would have preferred to have some better evidence before unleashing the deluge of silliness.
Wow! I sign off and get on an airplane, then log on again and you guys are writing this stuff? Are we really going to continue down this path? Since I joined this forum I thought we were talking about cars, as well as related topics. Just inside this thread, over an above talking about how cool the LFA is and my purchase experience to date, we have touched on terrorism, religious affiliations, politics (I think), and finally honesty of the information presented. Some posts have been grossly out of place, and others have been social attacks on my integrity because of experiences that others on this forum have had in the past where a hoax was pulled. Negotiating the deals I do are stressful enough for business. This thread, or any thread was not intended to create more stress for me. It was and hopefully still will be fun for me to participate in.
Do I have to post a picture of my family, in front of my house, with my TL and my wife's Pilot, with my drivers license, Social Security Card, last 10 years of tax returns, copy of the deed to my house, and most importantly copies of every document I signed to purchase the LFA along with the senior sales rep's business card? If any of you are waiting for that, you will get old and grey before that happens.
Come on guys, either stay on topic or just close the thread all together. I am irritated that this is the way we are going. Please stop this stuff. It is not fun anymore for me.

Don't worry about all these other guys. Let's move on.
So are you on clublexus? If not, what lexus forums have you been visiting? I'd love to visit some LFA forums but not sure which are good. Thanks

This is my first forum experience. I am not on any others, and quite frankly I am becoming far more cautious by the minute about doing so in the future. I am learning quickly how fast things can turn to the negative. Before I left this morning for the airport, I washed the car and was trying to figure out how to clean the gaps between the front and rear fenders and the bumper as there is some dirt I can't remove. I would think asking one of you for some advice would be the thing to do as I don't want to use a tooth brush because it might be to abrasive. I thought this and related questions was what this forum was all about. What this has turned into are a series of personal attacks on my integrity from anonymous people. It must be very easy to do that since it has happened so often on this thread. Someone mentioned that if I showed up with a Veyron someone would think I should have bought multiples of the LFA. If you want to see pictures that I took with my own cell phone, look on my Flicker account. You will see the one I took pictures of. NO it is not my car. NO I did not drive it. This is really irritating at this point!
@ OP getting so defensive over shenanigans.. What the fuck are we supposed to do until February? It's really comical.. a couple guys ask for simple evidence and you act like we're asking for a rectum exam.

Shit, an estimate of the driveway work would suffice.. or a pic / evidence of your neighbor's merc with that bmw sitting on top of it.

Of course you don't have to give us shit.. but complaining that we ramble for the lack of any evidence is asinine. It's the internet.

Point taken. I'm learning fast about the rules here. There aren't any.

OP, don't mind the jacka*ses in this thread, like Majofo, who I pretty much ingore 99% of the time since she has nothing constructive to add... ever. There's the other percentage of us that want you to stay around to see the LFA.

You might be learning but you're not learning fast enough. By posting the way you have, in the quoted two posts, you are chumming the shark infested waters. So you can expect the same responses, or even worse, or you can lighten up and go with it. Until you post pics of yourself holding an Azine sign, in front of your house, with the new car, this will continue unless you let it drop until Feb.
Regarding your car washing question...Go to the Wash and Wax forum here. It is one of the best out there. Really. You'll get very helpful comments there.

Something isn't sounding right to me here...
And please don't take this as an attack and I'm sorry if I'm wrong.
1) Someone that says that spending $400K on an exotic car where money isn't an issue, but then says they're not in a bracket to purchase an $8 Million dollar property.
2) Then, currently drives a $40K TL and wife drive $30K Pilot...but didn't hit the lotto and isn't JUST coming into wealth. You're into cars and have worked hard to be wealthy, we all love Acura, but the TL wouldn't be your first pick.
3) Then, vague on how you have that kind of money, and the super rich friends and the whole "forum thing is new to me".
4) Pictures of the car originally posted were of another car, and not the one test driven. If I had test driven the car of my dreams that I'm on the fence about buying because my love handles make the seat uncomfortable...you'd see a picture of me standing in front of it with a smile and hard on.
I just feel like I've heard this one before, maybe in a different form.

Abcdecanc#1, your demeanor is a little odd and the way you responded last time sounds like you are well versed in forum lingo and are dumbing it down when you say you're unfamiliar.
I retracted if I was wrong but for a guy that posted a picture of his front yard with the address attached, you're seem really defensive about posting up ANYTHING else to support the fact that you just bought a car that's worth a third you home.
Prove the naysayers wrong and support it with fact, not more youtubes we can all look up of the LFA ourselves was all I was getting at to begin with. Not to mention, you tell the story of your friend, with the dog that was a gift for the kids after wife passed of cancer and then no other mention of it, no pictures of the car. The thread derailed, but you can't act like you didn't help it get there...
I never doubt that...was kinda waiting for you to chime in.

I do not have any pictures of the accident scene as it happened in another state where my friend lives. If you think I am going to be insensitive and ask him for any pictures he has of the incident, just so I can post them on this forum, that is ludacris. What are we doing here? What is up with the sluth comments? Is there a witch hunt for me now? What is wrong with you people? And because I am writing with proper gramar, now you think I am holding back? This is getting stupid. This was clearly a mistake.

As much as I REALLLLLY want to believe, I still am not going to believe until I see some form of evidence, no matter how small it might be.
+2
I'm not hating and I'm not taking sides. I just want to believe you really are getting an LFA.
BTW, you do have an awful lot of free time on your hands to post in this forum with work like yours.

^^^she must be some gorgeous wife...

Alt, it's not your grammar, every once in a while you slip and say something that only someone that's been on the forum for a while would say. Again, no biggie...you definitely have an answer to every question. I'll give you that much...
and no, I agree that asking your friend for a picture would be:
