Lane Motor Museum - Nashville, TN (100+ Pictures)

My wife and I stopped at the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, TN over Christmas vacation. It was an interesting experience to see so many makes and models we had never heard of before. If you're ever in the Nashville area, I highly recommend you stop in and check out this amazing collection.

From their website...

Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, Tennessee features the largest collection of European vehicles in the United States. Approximately 150 cars and motorcycles not typically seen in the U.S. are on display.

Lane Motor Museum features a unique collection of mostly European automobiles, housed in a former 132,000 square foot bakery. The majority of our vehicles were built in the 1950s through 1970s although we have some as old as the 1920s and as new as 2000.

You will be introduced to a broad cross-section of vehicles; over 45 marques representing Asia, Europe, and North and South America. Politics, geography, familial relationships, and economics are but some of the factors which have shaped vehicles throughout history. This is a working museum with the goal being to maintain all vehicles in running order.

The majority of our collection is arranged by country–Austria, Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden and the United States. Here you will learn how similar–and different–vehicles are from one part of the world to another–and why.

Here you will find:

* The largest Czechoslovakian
collection outside Europe
* Microcars
* Amphibious vehicles
* Competition cars
* Alternative fuel vehicles
* Military vehicles
* Motorcycles
* One-of-a-kind vehicles

Wow!

Thanks for posting ST! My favourite of the bunch was the Tatra. So far ahead in it's day.

You like you would fit perfectly in the '36 Fiat 500.

Looked at the pics again. In addition to the Tatras, I also like the '70 MG Midget race car. I'm sure I've seen that little car somewhere else.

Whoa, thanks for posting! I've only heard of maybe two cars listed, it was great reading the descriptions!

My favorites were the Citroen BX4TC and the Berkeley. I really liked the Quest concept too

AWESOME! Thank you for posting this. I would love to go someday.

I couldn't help but laugh at this thing:

Can you imagine being a passenger and facing backwards towards traffic? People in the car behind you would be constantly staring at you

Really cool. Who knew Smart ever made a car that looked somewhat decent that you might actually want to drive? Obviously it's modded by Brabus, but the base car doesn't look too bad...much better than their current cars.

We share similar tastes, Terry. Those were my favorites, too!

I also loved the MG Metro Rally car with yellow windows where you could see the beastly engine in the back. And to see the LARC in person was incredible. That thing is beyond huge!

Honestly there were so many that blew me away. The Datson fire truck was something you'll never see anywhere else, so that was memorable. After going to Barrett-Jackson yesterday and seeing multiple-multiples of "rare" cars, to see a vehicle that is 1 of 1... that's something special.

You're all very welcome. I figured most of us on AZine had never seen these kind of cars before, so I'm happy to share them.

Thanks for sharing! I don't think I have an appreciation for antique / collector cars of that nature. That is the ugliest collection I've ever seen I am sure there was a lot of passion and technology behind these vehicles but unfortunately that can't be conveyed by photos. Again, I do appreciate you sharing however!
