Congratulations on coming to the dark side One thing to remember, dont let that car get out of warranty! These damn cars are expensive to take care of without a warranty.

As for my M3, I'm thinking of going with the Imola Red w/ the Red leather Interior and Harmon Kardon Sound system upgrade. After red, as some of you know, I'm a 'Yellow Car' freak! However, the M3 Phoneix Yellow just doesn't catch my attention too much as the Red.

Oh well, got lots of time until I decide on what's going on. Hopefully I'll get to turn it into the car like from Evosport.

Nah, I was referring to what others and I were talking about in another thread. Basically, how you post certain posts here that would be just sooo much better (IOW, make more sense, be more worthwhile, be taken more enthusiastically, etc) at a BMW forum.

Congrats on the purchase though!

540 goes to the dealer or my good friend if he choose to buy it at a special price.

Astro:

Did you already go to pick your options? If so, what'd you get?
I'm contemplating getting a Navi or not. I'm not sure how much more weight that adds to an already heavy car.

welp, the CL is 3510 lb. without 3525 lb. with Navi.

so 15 lbs is def worth it.

you aint a balla till you got a stock navi.

if you are concerned about the 15lbs, I would rather go to the gym and loose 15lbs then not getting the navi.

I'm not sure about the name. I'll probably not end up getting the power seats because that'll save me about 20lbs each and if I ditch the navi, that'll save me an extra 15 lbs or so as you guys say. So all in all, 55lbs saved. Well I guess we'll see.

One other car I've been watching whole heartedly is my beloved '98 Lotus Esprit V8 TT since its in the same price range as a new M3. I've been talking to a few guys and they said they have done ECU upgrades on those. For $750, the upgrade gives you 70-100HP and 60lb-ft torque. That would be nice to have a 450HP V8 TT weigning in at 3100lbs. One thing I like about the Lotus is that they only make something like 300 each year and send only 100 or so to the US each year. Ahhh! This is too much to think about!!!

don't be cheap...

if your gonna do it... do it right.

i hate people who buy stripped cars. :shakehd: :shakehd:

if your that concerned... LOSE SOME WEIGHT.

55lbs is not that much. at the very least, ya need the navi. 15lbs makes no difference at all

Congrats on the car. I wish i could get one...maybe some day.

As far as the navi and power seats goes, I have to agree with soopa. Dont be cheap, do you honestly think 55 lbs is going to make a huge difference? 15 lbs. def. isnt going to and the navi is so cool not to mention useful but thats just me

I can afford the seats and Navi, thats not the issue. The seats, I'm not too sure about getting, I just can't see myself adding on almost 50lbs for added convenience. As for the BMW Navi, I have to first ask you, do you know what the BMW Navi is like? Its NOTHING like the Acura Navi!

BMW requires you to have different CDs for different regions of the US. It is NOT DVD based.

in that case then dont get hte navi. the seats u dont realy need either. hehe, then save those 55lbs, in case you start drinking more and get a bigger belly, u still have room to make up for the weight. haha

Hehe, good way of thinking about it I wish they kept this M3 the same weight as the previous one. I don't know what the heck they are doing.

As for being cheap about it, I don't think its the same. I'm buying the car for one reason, performance.

Soopa, your twisted thinking is probably going to make me get those damn powered seats!!!!!

The M3 Coupe weighs in at 3415, while the convertible is 3781. The old one weighed in somewhere around 3200.

That's my next car..... As soon as I get my mind right + money right!

Hey M5Lite - Are there any mods out for the 2002 m3 yet? If so, how much time do you think you can take off the ETs? 0-60 claimed at 4.769 (4.8 est) Qtr = ?
