Just Another Day at the Office...
... Or not As some of you may know, I work at Target. As some of you may have assumed, I like cars. Generally making $8.00 an hour nice cars are something I look at pictures of, maybe see driving around on the street every once in a while. Today I saw one of the more expensive cars pull into the parking lot, a Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. This is, quite honestly, my favorite German car, ever. Well I waited for the driver to get out of the car and played dumb asking him if it was a 55 or 65, and our conversation carried on from there. Well he then told me if I wanted to meet him back out in the parking lot in 10 minutes he'd give me a ride in the car. Needless to say I clocked out, and we headed over to his car. I know, I know, don't get into cars with strangers... Well we drove out of the parking lot and pulled into another parking lot of a hotel down the street where he opened his door and told me it was my turn to drive, MY TURN TO DRIVE! I got to cruise around on I-25 for about 30 minutes toying with the throttle the entire time, hitting 100 mph many times, with extremely little effort on the part of the car. To be completely honest, this experience is on the top list of coolest things that have ever happened to me. This guy truly made my summer, and I wish I could have talked with him more. Anyways, on with the pictures, one with my ugly self in the driver seat...

Very cool! I've seen a few of those and even thought I'm a BMW guy, they're nice.
Strangely, there was a red SL55 AMG parked in front of my house today for a half hour. Not sure why.

Damn, this place is ruthless. I didn't even finish reading his post when I knew he was going to get torn up. When he mentioned turning into the parking lot of a hotel I thought "Oh dear god, he's toast now".
Glad to see there are still some decent people in this world. Doing things for others without any expectation of anything in return. Can't go wrong there.

i had the same scenario with a 645ci back when they first came out
dude buys a dollar hot dog and pays with a hundred and tells us to take whatever we want
he asked if i would like to drive his car while i was admiring it
i refused to have my prints in the car, not tryna have the ATF showin up chargin me with transportin kilos of coke or AKs n all

If it came down to it, i'd probably choose a SL65 AMG over almost anything it goes against. Two turbos, twelve cylinders, drop-dead gorgeous looks, and a KILLER interior...doesn't get much better than that! Isn't there a Brabus package that puts that thing at 9xxHP and 8xx torque?! =0

What doesn't make sense to me is how someone who practices sufficient judgement to eventually acquire a new Mercedes AMG would let a 17 y/o drive around for a half hour and floor the pedal. I mean there's nobody less likely to ruin your car by accident. Sure there's some cool people out there, but seriously if this were a movie and I was a movie critic I'd say this plot has more holes than swiss cheese.
Though assuming everything happened as stated I don't think the AMG's owner was looking to pick him up or the OP would be shaking in a corner somewhere right now.

Wealthy people who have had to work hard are often unasuming and rarely make reference to their wealth or talk of their accomplishments.
OP: Congrats! Must have been quite the experience! Who knows? Maybe many years ago someone acted in the same manner to him as he did to you.
