Jinxed myself - tranny dead

Oh well. The other day I mentioned how I haven't seen as many "my tranny died posts" as of late, which is still true...well guess what....mine died over the weekend . I had to drive it in to the dealer today and must say that it was one of the scariest drives I've been on. The tranny just had a mind of its own and would up and downshift whenever. fortunately it was backroads but still.

Anyway, the car will be at the dealer for at least a week, maybe 10 days, and the best they would give me is a fucking corolla. needed to vent. now I hope this is the last tranny and that I can get rid of this car.

I had to pay for my own rental but then again I drive an Accord and Honda doesn't give you a loaner. I was rolling in a Neon for 2 days.

Acura of Boston. I bought the car there and have had it serviced there since the beginning. They are so-so nowadays (not too bad) but were better a few years back.

I can't remember the guy's name (Nigel I think) but he used to hook me up. Gave me a TL as a loaner when the first tranny died and even gave me a loaner when I had my accident. Never gave me a problem about my headers. Now the service rep always brings it up. They gave me a defective headlight when they were stolen (I told them it was flickering) and they responded by saying it was because of my bad o2 sensor (because of the OBX crappy quality). after I replaced the O2 and it happened again they checked and found that the ignitor was fuxored and replaced it. They didn't even apologize for being wrong! pissed me off. (end of rant)

So it looks like I will be rolling to the Sunday meet in my corolla! too bad the lug pattern is 5x100 otherwise I'd have put my 18s on that box!

WTF does an o2 sensor have to do with a headlight flickering.

So how's this work. Will they replace these trannies for as long as you own the CL?

The 02-027 SB states that it is valid for effected cars up to 7 years/100k miles. I have seen a few instances of cars that were over 100k that were still covered under goodwill status. If any of them have a fault code that is a P0700-P0770, you're probably under the coverage of the bulletin (provided your trasnmission fluid has been maintained).

Technically, a dealer is not the one responsible for handling the decision of a goodwill operation. The District Parts and Service Manager (or DPSM) or regional care rep is. The dealer submits the information at the customer's request and they make the final judgement.
