New BMW 330i

I saw this thing this morning on my way to work and that has to be the ugliest thing ever. I think the designers at VW and BMW are related because the Jetta and New 3 Series are some fugly ass cars..

I disagree. I've seen two so far and thought they were gorgeous.

I used to think that until I saw them next to eachother. After seeing the two so close to eachother I feel the E90 really makes the E46 look outdated. (excluding the M3)

VS.

glad you posted this, to me they both look very similar. The E46 does not look dated.

I like the extra power they have given the ride but I don't like the looks at all.. I would never buy that car even if I had the money for it.

The new Jetta is one ugly car.
But the new E90 is not that bad at all.

Meh, that amber makes it uglier.

There is not much difference in the front, but the back doesn't look as good as the E46.

I'm a with respect to the "E" names...how did they come up with them? It seems like for each generation of BMW, they take the letter E and attach a completely arbitrary 2 digit number on the end...anyone care to explain?

But anyway I sorta like the old one better. The new one has a funny roof line.

They did change the E46 quite a bit from 1999 to 2005. So we can expect similar improvements over the next few years.

If you ask me, the E46 was outdated before the E90 even came out, but I still think the E46 looks better than the E90

It's just an internal designation much like the one used on porsches (997=911, 986=boxster)...

Here's some good info on how BMW internal chassis designation evolved...

I agree about the VW Jetta, but I'm starting to get used to the new designs of the 5 series and now the 3 series. It did look horrid at first, but I guess it takes some time to get used to it.

Great looking designs don't take time to get used to.

While I don't think the 5series is"horrid" looking, its not what I would consider a gorgeous looking car (imho).

the new headlights on the bmw's make the car look stoned. seems they did a good job at giving the headlights that droopy eyelid look with the way the fenders come over them.
