But really, I'm going to enjoy my car as is for at least couple months. It really feels very neutral in the corners for some reason. It's probably the weight reduction and much better tires. The stock tires were called Dunslip over at mazdaspeed forum.

And honestly, the stock suspension set up that comes with 2nd generation Mazdaspeed3 is pretty good. It's the part where Mazda really focused on improving on this generation. Probably the only part where they improved on.

Probably in the middle or after this upcoming summer, I'll pairing up the Swift Spec R Springs with a set of Bilstein Sport shocks for my car. That's the most popular set up for the second generation MS3 right now. People actually do track and auto X this car a lot, and all these guys who run various suspension set up recommended that Swift + Bilstein (Koni) is the way to go. A better set up than this would be KW V3, which is a bit overkill for a noob like me.

Also, I have just one personal modding policy, and it is to mod slowly. The only reason is for me to keep the car long. If I mod everything at once, I would get bored so very quickly and get a new car itch. Even if I reach about 350whp on this car with couple more bolt-ons, I would feel the need for more speed anyway. It's just how it is.

This is the best I can do with my P&S camera. LOL

I'll do a proper shoot with my work camera next week after getting the car fully detailed.

I like that drop. A little bit too low for my taste, but it's certainly much better than the hellawheelgap look that I'm rocking right now.

Bilstein Sport + Swift Spec R will give me about 1 inch.

Would it be easier to get both springs and shocks at the same time as far as the installation is concerned? I guess that would be much easier to install since I don't have to take apart the stock suspension to swap out the springs?

The Swift Springs for my car is like $299 shipped and the Bilstein Sports shocks are like around $600. That's not too bad, huh?

For $58 more I'd go adjustable.

I didn't think i would, but I change the dampening out on mine monthly, just to change it up. Plus, some Konis have adjustable perches if you wanted to go a 1/4" lower you could.

My advise would be to do it all at once. Its already apart, wouldn't want you to pay for it twice.

1 - Get both at the same time and install as one unit.

2 - Get the adjustable dampers.

That pic is great! Those wheels really suit the car. I agree with you, the chop is a little low, but it definitely gives you a good idea of the final product .

Yeah, I just want to drop it a little, probably a full inch.

The chopped pic looks so good though.

Thanks Todd! I love them.

I cleaned and boxed my stockers yesterday! They are in a great shape.

Unfortunately two of my stock tires had bubbles, so I had to trash them. So, I only have two stock rims with tires and the other two are without it.

Thanks!

The only coilover set that I want to get is KW V3 which is like $1,600, but it's very overkill for my purpose. I'll be perfectly happy with Swift + Koni/Bilstein combo.

Did your buddy get ripped off? How was the condition on the rims?

The rims itself have been selling at $650 over at msf.org. A lot of people want to get them for some reason these days.

He really needs money then.

If someone makes a BUY thread on msf.org offering $350 for all 4 rims, people will shit on the buyer all day long.

The reasonable market rate for all 4 stock GenPu rims is between $600-650.

Dude, you should get the rims from that guy who is willing to let go for $350. They look pretty good on other cars. The size is 18x7.5.

Yep $600 is about what I was seeing for the Genpu wheels when I was looking for them. If I didn't get the hook up on the RX8 wheels powdercoating I'd be all over them. Totally happy with my set up as it sits though.

My RX8 wheels are about 19-20 lbs each, and my friend's GENPUs are about 24-25 each. So, maybe as much as a 5 pound savings plus the wheels are half an inch wider.

Genpu stock rims
18x7.5
24 lbs

But the Genpu rims look better than RX8's.
