Insurance Question
#42
Well, from the insurance company's perspective, it was your wife's and your fault that you damaged your cars, hence they mostly likely would not cover that. It was not an accident, so no claim will be made. Even if you asked, I doubt they would cover it. I would pay for the repairs out of pocket. :twocents:

That's his stripper pole, it's not going anywhere.

From an architectural/engineer point of view it is not a big change to remove the poll and make it a two car garage door. The contractor will add a post (poll) at the ends of the garage door and a header spanning the 16ft as (3)2x12 or (2) PSL beams that go across dependent if there is a room above your garage or just the roof to distribute the load from the one post to the two new posts. It is a simple change that I don't think will cost very much at all. I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn but I'm an architect. PM me if you want any more info or have any questions.

you guys gotta learn to be more careful when you exit and enter that there garage...
your insurance will cover it but they will classify it as an at fault accident and therefore your rates may go up if you do not have some sort of accident forgiveness program.
I live in a city with skinny alleys and drive a CL-S with a HUGE Turning radius and I have never hit my car on the side of my garage.....
if you have having troubles with the garage, turn in back up and straighten out before you enter, problem solved
