Here's another one of my hypothetical threads

Obviously pretty much everyone here loves the 2G TL but what if you had to get another car if roughly similar price... what would it be?

Me, I'd probably choose an 07 Lexus ES350, but I guess it might be a little higher in price than a 2G TL... not by THAT much frm what I've seen on autotrader surprisingly, but still more...

How about y'all?

Yes indeed ladies and gents, t'is I

Meh, I was curious was all the other 2G TL lovers liked as far as other cars go. The 07 ES350 I think has a very appealing look to me along with enough luxury features to make it appealing to me.

I suppose pricewise it's not THAT much more than an equivelant 03 TL with the same km's.

Prices would probably be the most logical way to do this.

As for the looks, to be honest it's one of the few Lexuses that I could own and be proud to actually look at when I walk out onto my driveway and see it. Most of them are ok, but IMO its body style is excellent.

Ooh, a new face... *huggles*

Purdy car indeed Crazy Acura

I originally posted this in the 2G forum to see what people who like the 2G TL (since pretty much everyone over there owns one and likely is a fan of it) would want to get... if they had to choose another equivelant vehicle.

price-wise, yep.

Whatever car you'd like, in the same price range as a 2G TL... I guess we'll pick an 03 for the purpose of this

That ls460 is pure sex.( power,TQ, style and toys) just a winner hands down.
the only reason i wud hold back on those is the $$$$$$$.
@ 61k, u cud buy 3 cl-s 4 that.
I also wonder is the heat frm the trapezoidial exhaust tips ever melt the bumper or deform it in any way?? Anyone have one willing to share such info.

Pic above:

As far as I know, those tips are not connected to the exhaust

i'd say the m5 is still a little out of 20k range.

if you can even consider the 2nd gen in the 20k range
closer to the 10-15k...

heh, had to. That, or a LGT, or a G coupe or sedan. Then next in line would be an A4, but I'll leave it at that before I start making a super-long list....

who cares the 2G TL was nice for it's day especially the TL-S, but that car and the 2G CL ruined Honda/Acura reliability with their tranny problems.

Acura took care of, and still takes care of 2g TL/CL owners with tranny problems. If you want to talk about Acura reliablitly the 94-95 Integra had auto trans problems, radiator problems, distributore problems. 92-95 Legends had head gasket problems, 04 TSX climate control problems, 05 RL electrical problems, 04 TL auto trans problems.

Don't say the 2g TL ruined Acura's reliablitly. Acura's have problems like ANY other car. At least Acura goodwills MOST of the issues.

FYI, my 03 TL-S at 74k is still on it's original trans.

^i dunno how much 2g tls cost, but i saw someone post a price range between 10-15 grand, and i just did a search of both the cars i suggested, and both can be had right in the middle of that range with about 70000 miles on them, 70000 doesn't seem like high mileage to me for 6-8 year old cars
