My biggest pet peeve is people who tailgate me in the snow. F'n retards.

 

My instincts tell me to get into the left most lane of the two, so at least I'm not on the receiving end when it happens. It's always the left-most lane that drifts into the right-most lane.

 

^Yeah, but your screwed if you have to make the next immediate right.

 

Fast lane huggers, as you call them and people who merge onto the highway slowly annoy me the most, but people who try to weave through traffic and make bad decisions are pretty annoying and fun to watch, unless they have the same fate as the OP, then it's quite upsetting.

 

Oh man yea, I used to make 190 mile treks back and forth for the holidays and whether it be a 1 lane or 2 lane freeway there was always some douche doing that. Best thing is he would zig zag and get let's say 4 cars in front of me and then switch to the other lane to pass the car ahead of him, but then everyone in the lane I'm in would all get real close to each other just to spite the douche and not let him back in. That was fun stuff to watch... him with his blinker on for 5 minutes and nobody letting him in Assholes like that deserve it.

 

The WORST driving I've seen was in Colorado in the late 80's. Not sure why so many people drive like s**t in Colorado, maybe its different now (doubt it). I saw everything mentioned in this thread on the highways there; people pulling out right in front of you on deserted mountain roads, drifting over on you in turn lanes, two cars doing 50mph side-by-side on a 2 lane (per side) highway with 40 cars stacked up behind them, on and on and on.

The one that took the cake though was on the highway from Boulder to Denver. I was in the fast lane when I noticed 2 huge trash bags full of trash right smack dab in the middle of the slow lane. They were the 30 gallon kind and full of stuff, so they were about 3 feet in diameter. An older woman in a Celica was doing like 45 in the slow lane behind me, and I was looking in my mirror to see how close she got before swerving out of the way. So, I kept looking. Closer....closer....closer.....and POW! she center-punched the first bag without even a twitch on the steering wheel. Trash flew everywhere; around both sides of the car, over her hood and windshield, it was spectacular.

That was almost 20 years ago. Still one of the most incredible things I've seen on a highway.

wow looks like i have something to add to this every other day lol

i was on my way home from work today and i took my exit that many people take just to skip the backed up traffic and immediately get back on the freeway to cut in front of people, i saw a motorcycle cop parked there. I pass him and he starts hauling and im like o fuck what did i do?! but then he goes after the car that was behind me. that car decided to exit the highway to the service road and immediately get back on to cut in front of all that traffic. cop busted him

 

It's amazing how many people I see get on their cell phones before they start their car and pull out of their parking spot and lots. And then they get annoyed at the pedestrians trying to walk to and from the stores.

I actually saw a person get into their car and then onto their cell phone and then backed up into a person walking to the store and the person on the phone had the nerve to blame the person walking for the incident.

I had an older lady do that to me, she floored it in reverse and slammed into the grocery carts I was pushing (this was back in high school)

 

+1 for the double turn lanes. I always cover my horn if I'm in the outside lane.
