I guess Top Gear has me a bit jaded but that faggot on the show Test Drive on the Speed Channel pisses me off. He seems so fucking insecure as if he is some random dude off the street who has never been in front of the camera. I HATE THIS SHOW! I love car shows but this shit is hard to watch...oh did I mention I hate this show? Anyways I am boycotting it and hoping it will go off the air! I want there to be an equal or at least close to equal show to Top Gear.

Incest Racing, NASCAR TV, or StillPissedAboutTheCivilWar Racing Channel is not only a better name, but also would attract your audience better.

You have to take td for what it is. A showing of the car funded by... the people who make the car. I happen to like that there are a couple of racers young and old doing something on tv. It aint that bad.


Just try not to compare anything to top gear, that is motoring entertainment. Good stuff.

 

I have the same thought every time I watch Test Drive. The host just gushes over car they drive, however, it seems like he spends 30 minutes without really telling us anything all that useful about the car. Top Gear =
Test Drive = ???

 

As for the show, it is esentially an infomercial. As for the "host" I agree he is not great in front of the camera, his cred lies in the fact is quite a good driver. Bottom line the UK has it all over us in car journalism, both written and TV. I enjoy my time with Evo and Car each month more than the time with my pile of US mags.

I agree completely about Test Drive being a propoganda piece, but don't be hatin' on Tommy Kendall. He might be one of the best sports car drivers ever. If he wasn't 6'5" he'd have had a helluva race career in other series too.
