Hung Out with the New NSX - No Kidding!
I was invited by a friend to join him for the "NSX Tour" at American Honda Center in Hoffman Estates, IL!
I must say it was one of the most awesome events I've attended.
Below, are photos of the prized and much-anticipated NSX!
If you can't view the photos here, a dealer in the area has these photos posted to their page as well!
Enjoy!

Manufacturing a supercar is a difficult thing. Like politics, you can't please all the people all the time, you must choose who to please. The new NSX may not be the most beautiful car, but I'll bet at speed it'll be much more of a joy to drive than say, the new Ford GT, which is being praised for its design. The companies had different goals in mind, and if you can't afford to own one of these cars, then you really won't have any idea what those goals were.
I have a friend that gets all the newest supercars (not hypercars). He lives a few hundred miles away, but when he gets this one I'll be sure to make a trip up there to drive it.

sure, we've seen pics of it on the road via Chicago auto show...
but no one has seen engine and electric motors..
so, we dont know how it drives or how it differs from the Ford GT.

The NSX is still vaporware. Were those cars driven into the service bay or towed in?

hatters gonna hat
If there's something I wish they'd change, it's the front and rear. I don't see either aging particularly well. The back looks bland compared to the 1G NSX. The front just looks odd. The chrome definitely doesn't belong there. Look who's a hatter now!

Wait until everything is illuminated. I think it looks great. Brushed [real] metal, stitched leather, carbon fiber... what else do you want? I like the way the lines flow inside the cabin too.

i mean, if you take a gander at other $120k car's interiors....this one is very simple.

Did they tow it to a gas station as well?
Did they stage this entire sequence on the highway?
The car is real and it really works and is being driven by real people around the country.
And did you not see the NSX debut at Detroit? Or read the SAE presentation? We know a lot about the NSX: $150K+, 550+ hp total system output with a twin-turbo 3.5L 75 degree dry sump V6 mated to a 9 Speed DCT/electric motor transmission and the front TMU, multi-material body with Aluminum, Ultra High Strength Steel and CF.

People are just losing hope in a company that seems lost in space, waiting for a car that's been talked about for 3 years with little of what everyone wants. Specs. Acura is so tight lipped on this project, getting tid bits here and there.
In essence, people feel Acura is setting the bar a little too high on this car by being so secretive and people feel it will flop. Imagine how hard the reviewers/critics (amongst others) will scrutinize this car since it has been veiled in secrecy since day one.
"you guys were THAT secretive for THIS?"

Agreed. Some nice pipes out the back would have been cool. That single cutout in the middle looks a little odd. Or somehow shaping the back to have a spoiler similar to the original NSX.

Difference is that the Ford GT has specs and has a production body and has a real interior and is actually functional.

I'm sure the car will be fine but it's already behind everyone else. Looks awesome, will sell well for a while but if it's anything like current Honda products it'll be the appliance of the supercar class.
It's not that. I'm sure most everybody on here has watched/read/seen whatever is available regarding the car.

The NSX was first shown at an auto show in 2007! Sure the project was canned for a few years but still!
Be happy it has an exhaust tip at all...
