I drive more aggressively than 90% of the people on the road. Not an asshole mind you, just using all measures of throttle and brakes to move myself through traffic....without pissing anyone else off.

That being said, my last actual speeding ticket was coming off of the SF Bay Bridge in a Corvette at 8:00am on New Years Day 12 years ago. 85 in a 55.

I stacked up more speeding tickets than parking tickets in my 20's, I think the count was 18 within 7 years or so. Once I got a little older and grayer, I began to drive at about 90% of what the real haul-assers on the road were doing. Thus, they get all the tickets, and I have continued to emerge unscathed. No speeding problem here.....

I voted: "I only speed sometimes".

But I always go a minimum of 10 over the limit on the freeway, just like everyone else?

I think "speeding" is a relative term.

With the exception of neighborhoods or school zones, traffic permitting, I am always traveling above the limit. I don't see it as a problem, though, I see it as the limits are too low. I drive at a rate that suits me; if they raised the limits, I would still drive at those rates.

If I'm driving locally I'll speed up maybe 10-15mph over, on the highway that is.

But if it's a long trip, I don't think there is any point to speed. You'll only save yourself a few minutes which in my opinion is not worth the risk/ticket.

I usually run 5 to 10 over. Depends on the road.

I usually speed, but try to be selective. The 10% rule usually applies to me on the highway. 50 in a 45, 30 in a 25, stuff like that. It's usually what everyone else is doing.

I've hit 100 once. When I was 18, and haven't seriously approached it since. Here in Georgia, we have a statue for serious offenses under 21. I violated that twice.

First time, some douchebag was on my ass so I decided to get up to about 65 on a 35 road. I ran into a speed trap. On top of that, I didn't know a high school was right there and it was active (lights were obscured, so I was able to plead down). Yeah, had to get a lawyer for that one to keep my license.

Second one was total BS, but I did my time. 71 in a 45. Everyone was pacing everyone else, but I was the one busted. Spent nine months on my bike and the bus due to revocation. That was 11 years ago, and I've gotten one speeding ticket since.

80 is about my limit on any highway. I just don't see the need to go faster than that. And now that we have a superspeeder law, I really don't see the need for it.

I used to speed...now I flow with traffic, maybe do 5-10 over. It doesn't make sense to me to speed anymore as it's not really that fun and just consumes more fuel and you are at risk of being pulled over and fined.

5-15 on residentials (30 mph on a road that is 2 lanes each way is crazy)
5-25 hwy usually hang around 75-80 mph, so a 55 is 25 over

I am certainly not one for dodging and weaving, but the flow here is probably 75-80.

I tend to speed, but I'm not excessive. I never go about 80 mph. And usually I live about 10 over on highways and 5 over on local roads.

I'll go 70-85 on open expressways and pretty close to the speed limit or with flow of traffic on locals. I never speed in residential areas.

I only go 10 over without a rabbit. With a rabbit the sky is the limit. However, one some straight away country roads 50-60 over psl.

5 over on surface streets, 10 over on the highway (50 mph over here).

You can set the 911 to beep when it hits 60 mph, great idea since acceleration is so quick and effortless.

Of course, the first mod I did was install a laser jammer although it's only gone off twice and on surface streets.

School Zones - 5 under the limit - Everywhere else - 5-10 over, a bit more if it is a rural interstate...

My speeding habit has gradually subsided as I've gotten older, had kids and secured a pretty impressive insurance rate. On highways I do tend to cruise @ 80-85mph, with occassional surges to 100 mph+ on longer trips where I want to make some time. However, I do pick my spots carefully when making those 100 mph sprints.
You stole my response so I am quoting you.

I love the cheap insurance being old & having a good record brings!
