As long as the pads/rotors last. I know people who have driven 30-40K miles.

Ahh thats what i figured. But guessing the pads will wear faster since they are fading unevenly?

Yes... the pads will wear quicker...

You can keep 'em on as long as you can stand the steering wheel vibration...

My dealer changed the pads and turned the rotors on my CLS @22.K miles even tho' I hadn't complained about it (warped rotors)

Ah... not really... The reason they HAD to do the rear brakes was there was only 3mm of pad left... When they adjusted the parking brake @ 15K (I've got a 6spd), they must not have checked to make sure the rear pads weren't dragging (it's a step in the Helms manual)... I think that they just used the fine adjustment in the console (and the fuckers didn't put the console back in right, carpet is tucked under correctly), but they should have done the coarse adj. first (rear tires were off for rotation anyways), and checked that the wheels rotated freely.

They told me they had to do the rears due to "rust"... and did the fronts as they said the warped rotor thing was a common complaint...

The fucked up on the parking adjustment, and lied to me about the cause to cover their asses...

I'll been thinking of using a dealer that moved recently that is closer to home for my 45K (got a couple of things for them before the warrenty runs out). Maybe I'll give the old dealer one more shot, as they are in a new facility now (hopefully that will make them better??)...

Mine have been warped (again) for about 10k miles now. Not sure if I'll be bringing it in anytime soon though...

I'm probably on 30k miles on my warped rotors, put the rotors on backwards trusting the person at the shop where I did the work. Right now I have pad squealing, so I'll be getting another full set of front brakes and changing the pads on the rear forthe first time. 105k on the rear.

Mine have been warped for over 15K miles. Dealer says I shouldn't turn them until the pads go and I can replace both at the same time. My vibration isn't very bad at all, though.

The pads have been on the car since I bought it - 43K miles when I bought, it's at 87-89K now. I don't know what kind of pads the previous owner bought, because everytime I take it in and have them check, they say the pads still have a long way to go.

I must drive like a grandmother. I'm at 103,000km (60,000miles) and still on OEM brakes/pads without ever having them warp. Mind you, the dealership said I'll need new brakes (I'm assuming fronts) at the next major service.

BTW, Crazy Sellout, how did you warp S4 brakes??? What are you doing?

OEM s4 rotors are known to warp easily. Which is why most S4 guys get rid of their brakes for BBK instead. Plus they are heavy. But for me they were a great cheap upgrade from the stock 1.8t brakes.

The guy i bought them from was just gonna toss out the rotors but i asked for them instead. Just had to pay shipping for them. They lasted for a few months.. so i got my time in. WHo knows how bad they were when he had them though. No biggie.

Thought you spent a fortune on a BBK just this summer, Sam? You said they've been warped since 4 months ago, so you're saying those $$$, better rotors only last you ~4 months total?? Heh. How the heck are you driving/braking to cause that? As far as I know, you can't really drive faster than 50km/hr most of the time in the city.

most of the damage done on the track, i have been to the track 4 times last yr, and i warped them at the 4th time i went, lasted one season in total

imagine hard braking from 100mph to 30mph every lap, then u will get the clue how hard i am driving

the reason i want to wait is i afraid i will crack the rotors in the winter, so i will elave it until april

I actually had a caliper go bad from the violent vibrations my TL's rotors made.

i used to have brembo knock-offs that i bought on ebay.. lasted about 3 months. and i wasnt driving too hard the last three months at all. I just replaced with Rotora that i bought on the groupbuy from excelerate.. this thing is pure quality. stops on the spot and looks a hell lot nicer too.

Well that would explain it then! Glad you're being responsible and taking it to the track instead of playing on the roads, too! Good decision. Have fun.

I'm not sure if my rotors are warped. I've had vibration in the steering wheel when braking in 5th gear (5AT). There is no shaking when the car downshifts and engine brakes with 4th gear.

Everytime i go to the dealer though, they say the rotors are fine when I ask if they are warped.
