Honestly if you had the chance to rechoose, would you choose the Acura Tl or G35?

I personally chose the Acura cause I loved the looks since i first laid eyes on one in 2004, and then and there i swore I would get one. But now that I have one, I wonder what it would be like to have A G35 sitting in my driveway.
Now, If only I could get my stock TL to sound better than the G....Suggestions? im thinking of getting the Cai...

Well obviously I chose the TL-S. The only thing that the G35 offers is more hp and RWD, those of which are two huge things. So you can imagine how much I love my TL-S for giving those up. The TL-S just looks SIIK and it comes fully loaded for a good price. Also, this is a big thing for me cause im very tall. There is no way im fitting into a G35 or IS350, I fit real comfortable in my TL-S which is a plus not to be overlooked. Overall the TL-S is a better car period.

for a g35 no.. too common.. I was the 1st TL-S owner in CA, that's what made me get the TL. If you're talking bout the g37.. definitely a different story for me haha

I always wanted to get the G when it first came out,but too many people got it. Too bad the TL isnt RWD! But I rather settle less for something I didnt see too often, the TYPE S!

I had to choose a TL over the G35 because I have a family and need 4 doors. I don't like the 4 door G35's. For me the closest competitor was the Lexus IS 350. Now I sometimes wonder if that was a better choice for me. The Lexus seems a lot smaller though.

G35, I had a 350z same shit, the ticking between shifts which "nissan" I mean datsun had a "tsb" for never friggin went away
Lube the rear axle or something or other
I still hear g's and z's make the ticking noise as I let them roll a couple cars ahead of me before I smash it to the floor and leave their interiors smelling like fumes
Now, the G37S, that is one sick ride, but datsun fucked up for not making the coupe awd, G37Sx?
I preffer the m35, and also feel its interior compares to the tl because it is more refined

I looked at both when I bought my TL a month ago and I shopped for about 3months. The refinement of the interior and the dash of the TL is superior, I think the body lines on the TL are way more appealing and I just like the power delivery of the TL (the exhaust does sound quite kool on the G35).

I previously owned a 350Z before my TL so the G35 was never really considered. I did go out to drive the new sedan when it came out though. the truth is both are solid cars, and the newer Sedans definitely look very nice, in fact i'd go as far to say that it is a step above the TL in luxury looks on the outside. but it's still kind of clunky, and the tastes on appearance is quite different.
i immediately fell in love with the TL because of the way the front and back looked. The eyes in the front looked so mean, and the trapezoids/rectangular rear was really really appealing. - the new G35 Sedan just screamed maxima in the front and the rear was decent.
comfort wise, the TL feels more solid on the ground, but the G35 is definitely smoother.
all in all in the end i think i heavily weighs on your dealer experience, and your preference in styling.

I would buy the TL all over again without a flinch. The only thing I'd do different is buy the 6-speed. My wife drives the car FAR less often than I thought she would. She hates driving it because it's so modded out and she is scared to damage anything or park it in a risky place. She perfers her econobox appliance. I drive the TL 98% of the time, should have just listened to instinct and got that manual! Shoulda loved my car more than her!

had to make the same decision, either 08 tl or 08 g35x, but for the price you get between the two cars, the tl is a much better deal. Plus having owned 2 hondas before and they both ran fine after 200k miles, hoping the acura can also hold up =)

TL gets much better gas mileage, although it wasn't the main deciding factor.
I just like Honda. There's something about Honda to me.

Between the TL and the G35 I would probably go with the G35. The TL-s or G35, I would probably reluctantly go with the TL-s. Although, after owning an Acura and now my 3rd Nissan, I would choose the VQ over Honda.
I have clocked a combine total of about 250K miles on 3 Nissan products and had less issues than I had with my 1 Acura.

website conversion procedure:
1) change logo to "infinitizine"
2) replace all instances of TL with G35 and vice versa
3) profit
they're both great, if played out cars. can't go totally wrong or totally right with either

TL, because it was much more refined and had a nicer interior than the '05 G35.
IIRC, the '05 TL was also slightly less expensive, had better MPG and acceleration was too close to call.
I'm about to go through this exercise again with the G37 (tested the TL-S already).

Is the TL forum down or something? what's with all the bling Acura/TL love? If we are talking pre-09 TL, I will agree it is a pretty good all around car, not my cup of tea, but I can see why some people like it. Comparing the 2nd generation G35 to the TL, I think is a no brainer, the G is a much better all around value. The first generation G never really did it for me, it was a huge step for infiniti and really brought life back to the brand but it just always fell short, with the second generation it really grew up and lost its rough edges.
I've driven countless TL's and G35's, owned a 07 G35 sedan for a little over a year and liked it, but wasn't in love with it - I would be hard pressed to purchase either.

Wow. So many people sticking by Acura.
I decided on the 2nd Gen TL-S over the G35 because.. well the older G35 interiors were shit.
I would say if I had to choose as of today between a 08 TL-S or an 08 G37, I'd pick the G37.
