Honestly if you had the chance to rechoose, would you choose the Acura Tl or G35?

TL-S looks better than the new G for sure. However, RWD and VQ power is hard to give up. I'd take a G35S.

Well I have a same problem as the OP and reading this I am not clear on the opinions. Are you all just comparing 07/08 Tl and 07/08 G35/37?
I am looking at a 2005 TL, standard, no Navi or G35 coupe 2004 standard no navi with everything else I think. Price is the same and the KM are almost the same but I am not sure what to go for. I liked 3g tl since it came out but g35 is just so sexy. Both cars are SO common around here so it wouldnt be unique whichever I pick. I am not sure what I want so give me some insight

Yeah, what's the deal? I've been noticing a few threads getting moved from there to Car Talk.... guess its to balance out the Acura bias with the Acura haters here in CT?
2G TL vs. 1G G35 sedan = 2G TL
3G/4G TL vs. 2G G35/G37 sedan = 2G G
I've never liked the 1G G sedan, the rear end looked so boring, and the interior wasn't all that great either. But the 2G was a huge improvement in every single way.

I got the G cause its just screams too much sex appeal to deny, definately will be a classic car years from now... fast and handles great, and the engine is amazing one of the best exhaust notes on the road... the 6mt's clutch and gearbox will take alot of getting used to though if you get that route, very high pickup and frizzy friction point

Eh, I worked at Infiniti and drove all of them all day long. I guess after a while you stop caring. At the time, the 1G G35 sedan was ugly (inside and out), harsh, and poorly put together (IMO). Hell, I think the 2G is still butt ugly from the front, and the interior still looks and feels cheap, although its much better than the 1G. My sales manager used to tell me to park in the garage because a client saw my car in front and went the Acura dealership to check out the TL

G35 sedan. Looks way better than the new TL, and frankly I'm getting tired of Acura being so inconsistent with their choice of materials for their luxury division. Aluminum trim on the TL's interior, yet that damn door release is the same plastic "faux metal" crap you find in a Civic. WTF Acura.
There used to be a time when Acura interior > Infiniti, but I'd say for at least the past 2 years that has not been the case. And exterior-wise (except for the new FX), Infiniti's are getting better and better than Acuras too.

There is no Infiniti that has a better interior than its competing Acura IMO
RL vs. M....RL >>>>>>>>> M (IMO, I hate the center stack of the M looks like R2D2's ass, no sportyness what-so-ever, and the steering wheel is such an eyesore)
TL vs. G....No comparison, the 3G TL looks better, 4G blows it away
MDX vs. FX?...again, no comparison
RDX vs. EX....no comparison
As far as materials go, its 50/50. The plastics in the Infinitis are MUCH cheaper looking and feeling than in the Acura. They are also used much more frequently. Perfect example is the center stack of the G, it looks exactly like the Maxima...90% of the switches/buttons are the same.

^^^Since when did personal opinion become fact? My best friend has a 3G TL and I think my G37's interior is nicer looking. Its all in the eye of the beholder....

I can speak from direct experience objectively because I have owned 2 2003 G35 sedan ( 1 stock and the other tuned and featured in superstreet mag), and a 2006 tl. The G35 would crush the acura in terms performance and driving pleasure. The acura tends to understeer on corner entrance and give the dreaded torque steer on corner exit. The Acura on the other hand is a far better designed car and is far more reliable. The interior alone on the 39000 dollar TL is nicer in many ways than the interior in my 50K lexus GS. Acura does an amazing job with the interior design and reliability, but dynamicaly the car could use more power, and rear wheel drive. I am amazed that acura refuses to give us a RWD sedan with 310 hp. I want more power and less weight. The new TL weighs in at the same weight as my GS. AWD is great but makes the car a porker. I have to admit I was pushing my wife to get another G when her lease was uo, but once I saw the acurs up close and saw the interior, my wife and I were sold!!

I wouldn't go as far as no comparison between the interior between the RDX and EX.
Again, I wouldn't call this no comparison.
I have a hard time looking for a better MDX interior picture, thats the best I could find lol
Regarding maxima having the the center console as the G, I am completely agree! However, same can be said for 08 TSX and 08 Accord!

Um, that last picture of the "Accord" is actually of the Euro Accord.... which is basically a rebadged TSX, or vice versa. Those two pics are nearly exactly the same, and the 08 Accord (US) interior doesn't look like that.

I would still choose the TL all day and twice on sunday! I considered a lot of cars including the G35 and still choose the 05 6mt and more recently the 08 type-s 6mt. I have to admit i do love the new G37 6mt coupe tho!! I just cant get over nissan/infinity interiors tho.

No. Just a matter of preference (mine), since it's about what we think individually. You know, like some people dont think a TL should have a manual in it. In a car like the ones mentioned, I just feel digital looks better with all the rest of the technology present. Analog looks kind of out of place. Sort of like the cassette deck (which, by the way, I like to use to play my old tapes)!

let's get 1 thing straight.
Great interior Layout has nothing to do with Interior Quality.
Acura definiely has better interior layout than Infiniti
Try to slam/close the RDX's door, you will hear and feel the same "cheapness" as my 08 civic.
Now, try the EX or FX.
Made in Japan FTW, that is a fact
