Help...How do I remove pinstripes??

Guys, before I start trying to remove my pinstripe on my 91 Integra, I just want to know how much of a pain in the ass will it be! I believe that it is taped instead of paint, but not to sure. If it is painted how do I remove it?? If it is taped, I can get it started but will it break in process due to its age??

thanks in advance!

if it's painted - wet sanding and buffing

if you have clearcoat on the paint, it comes off real clean and you will never know it was there (unless your paint has faded substantialy)

I had mine removed from a local bodyshop and it cost about $70ish - can't tell I ever had it

If its just taped, all you need is a hairdryer and some patience

What you need to worry about is if it's faded.

A car that age, it probably is. Even if the stripe comes off, you'll have one heck of a shadow.

ok, so I found out that it is taped. Best possible solution is hairdryer/heatgun?? How long do I have to keep the gun on a section for?

Just enough to warm the glue, not long. Just try a small section and see how goes it. If it's not loose enough, heat it a bit more, but don't hold it in one place to long or you'll melt it. Hairdryer would work, but you may burn it up using it for so long.

dont use a heat gun, use a hair dryer.

a heat gun can kill your paint.

it should just peel off. its not too hard.

goo-b-gone to remove any residue
