Help with deciding on a GS-R

I've been contemplating getting a second car for awhile now. Used to be I worked right across the street from my office with a garage, so everything was great. Now I have a new job across town in an office without a garage. Half-hour commute down shitty city roads. Basically I was thinking of getting a clapped-out Civic hatch so I could save on gas, not worry about the suspension getting destroyed and leaving it in the heat, etc, while I can leave my TL at home nice and detailed.

I mentioned this to my friend. He says his sister would probably sell her 1994 4-door Integra GS-R. Supposedly when the GS-R came out that year, they sat and waited for the sedan and got one of the first ones off the line. Forrest green, completely stock, except for tints, deck spoiler, and custom Coach interior. 80K milage.

I was initially pretty excited, but now I don't know about this. Number one, it's a '94, and one of the first ones at that. Are there any known bugs or issues with this model year? Number two, I think I would be just as uptight and protective of a GS-R, when the whole point of the second car is to get something I can abuse. And finally, I would be pretty afraid some guy would come steal it for the B18C1 under the hood.

What do you guys think? How much would you pay? And if I did get one, what can I do to prevent it from getting stolen?

Are they really worth that much? Blue Book says something like 3 - 4K. It has the custom interior and all, but it's still a '94.

but 94' with only 80k miles sound great... you can always invest on alarm just in case anyone tries to take that baby from you.

If you park it on the street good chances it will get stolen. If you have a garage youre straight.

debagde the GSR emblem that might help a bit

not every integra gets stolen...just invest a few hundred in a nice alarm

it sounds like a pretty upscale beater tho haah....i would buy a 90-93 accord or a 93-95 civic, probably alot cheaper

my brother has a 95 coupe red, the first thing I told him to do was take off the emblems.. They are one of the top cars stolen around here, probably one of the highest in the country.

I wasn't even aware 3rd gen Integras had emblems to identify the trim level. I guess I've seen one with a little VTEC badge, but I thought they have lifted that off a Prelude.

Anyhow, the price will be somewhere around $3K.

There was a football player that used to keep a large snake in his car.

There is a badge on the back trunk area that says DOHC which is pretty much a sign of a GSR
